I seen a youtube video a long timr ago about beating tickets from photo radars.

is it true that you can just dispute the ticket and show up for court and say your honor i can't face my accuser which is the camera box then they throw the case out? ,it's a object it can't come to court.

i know the can't face thing is somewhere in the constutuion can't remmeber which one tho.

Ok. I’ll take a stab. Have you gotten a camera ticket? I think they just send the registered owner a fine in the mail. I guess there is due process where you can dispute but don’t know. They can’t tell who was driving- just license plate. I would just get a license plate shield that blocks photos.

Here in CO, the ticked has to be properly served (certified mail counts as served here as well). I believe an officer can testify for what's on camera. But if no one is there to testify against you, you can just say it's not you. My friends wife got a ticket a few years back, went to court, said yeah, that's not me.. case dismissed. Things might have changed since then of course.

They will claim the photo radar is properly serviced and regularly inspected and your counter-claim is thrown out. You will have to pay. Something to that affect.

Doesn't matter if it's not you. Just like a parking ticket, the registered owner of the car is responsible for the ticket.

Seems as if you stated is was not you. I'm sure they have some recourse. Might be owner of vehicle is responsible for citation. Or, they could place a hold of vehicle until offending party comes forward. This is just a guess on my part. We do not have any cameras here that I am aware of as of now.

That's not always true. LA for example, most people know if you get an RLC ticket you can literally throw it in the garbage because their courts decided that you actually needed to show the face of the driver and clearly be able to identify it (i.e. ducking or wearing a mask would make it go away as well) and a few other states. Some have modified cameras after that ruling was made just to keep their cash cow going by capturing faces. Oregon gets a video that's like 10x better than lossless UHD and a front and a rear shot of the car. They waste our money with this shit believe it or not.

Under our system there is owner liability for offences like speeding. If you defend a ticket, a Police technician will present evidence as to the accuracy and certification of the camera system.
When I was running a Harley rental service, I'd respond to police request for driver info by supplying the riders overseas contact details. That was the limit of my legal responsibility, and they had to find the rider themselves. which they never bothered to do. If I couldn't or wouldn't identify him then we would have been liable
I really enjoyed doing that.;)

Its been done successfully with about a years woth of court challenges and appeals. Yes, there is some case law that says you can confront your challenger and if SO, who is the challenger? The RLC company? The city or village that issued it??

In most jurisdictions that will be the camera operators, the US has some arcane legalities so that may not apply.
Try it, it'll make them develop talking camera systems.
