I just installed my ALP system last weekend. I am very happy with my own installation. I gathered all of my knowledge and ideas from here as well as vortexradar.com. I'm hoping someone in the DFW is available for testing. I was headed out of town this weekend but I'm extending a week before heading to Nashville and then Michigan.

The toughest part was running the cables from the engine thru the firewall into the cab. I took my time and you can't really tell they are even there..

Post some pics of your install or any lessons learned. I am about to do a self install on a Ford Raptor (long & wide truck) that seems similar to the truck in your avatar.

Did you install front & rear ALPS? If yes, I am especially curious where u put the Tx on the rear. And how you mounted it.

You might have to drive to get tested
With that big truck you'll certainly find holes with some guns and nothing with others
Well worth the drive for proper adjustments

Look through that thread and it has some testers in your area you may try to meet up with. If anything, drive down to OKC and we can test it. Post up some pics of your installs.

Okay here are my pics... what do you guys think? (I think I did a pretty professional job) My 3d print for the rear sensors arrived yesterday morning and got those installed... Still need to figure out a better install for the middle sensor. For the front, "TheJM" is nice enough to send me a 3d print for his TX sensor (same trucks Silverado 1500s). I also need a better mount on the other two sensors - currently just using double sided tape.

    Front Sensors -
    Rear Sensors -
    CPU behind the radio
Radio - (was another project I have to show off - I connected a firestick to my OEM radio)
USB updates - removed the crappy android auto connection (limits you too much) and connected the CPU USB upgrade
    My R3 hardwired
    LED/ R3 Mute button
    GPS unit
HiFi speaker - floor board, driver's side
Engine compartment - Almost looks like it belongs there
Engine area - firewall protected cable on the left is the main power cable - part of "TheJM" Ignition controlled distro panel www.rdforum.org: Ignition Controlled Accessory Fuse Box using Anderson Power Poles - G37 on the right are the sensor cables
Rear passenger floor exit to rear sensors (drilled thru the plastic plug but still need to seal around the wires)
cabling to rear bumper (can't remember who posted it (sorry) but cables are as high as possible! (with some slack)
    Behind the Rear bumber

Should I start a new thread with: is anyone capable for DragonEye Lidar Gun testing? I'm currently in the Fort Worth TX area and would drive x miles for testing.

I'll be in the Nashville area from the 26th to June 2nd.

Then headed up north and I know there isn't anyone near the location I will be but I could possibly pass someone on the way up to Alpena MI. Yea - that's way up north - BFE... lol If not, I will just have to wait util I get back to the DFW area again.

Now that you installed it you will never run into LIDAR ever again :)

lol - I would be amazed if with the 1450+ miles of driving that is coming up in the next couple of weeks, I don't into any laser. Funny thing is, before the ALP system... wished to avoid it but now want to run into it..lol (only if I'm ready for it!). Of course I will only in the legal states. For the states it is illegal, I only run my parking sensors.

Thank you! I took my time. I'm happy how it came out. Still have a few touch ups to do. I really like how I was able to remove the factory android auto and replaced it with the CPU USB input. What I feel are lacking, are the two front sensors. They are held with double sided tape. TheJM sent me the .stl for the Silverado 3d print for his tx mold. That has been printed and is being mailed out to me. So I"ll just have to work on the brackets on the front. For the rear tx, I broke 1 bracket attempting to bend it the way I needed it and long story but lost the other tx bracket....... so I"ll have to do something different with it.

Thanks - good advice but I wouldn't even know how to start to make a .stl file or even give measurements to get something to fit the way I need it.

The stl isn't hard to make if you have dimensions and a good 3D modeling software. As far as making a model, THAT I can do pretty easy if you give me dimensions. And files don't need shipping. Haha

I’m also in DFW and would like to do some testing on my setup. Assuming we can find someone with some laser guns, maybe we can get a group meet up together?

We might be able to get something together up there in the fall. I've got a lot of friends in Dallas and always look for an excuse to abuse the big D.
