All mainstream versions of CarPlay more or less right now are wired only. Bluetooth connection is automatically turned off when CarPlay is activated (plugged in), so no, you should not have to unpair it.

Make sure Use HFP, Duck Music, Pause Spoken and Use Speaker Only are all Off (simplest config) in Sound Settings in V1Driver. That is the default, so if you never touched any of that you should be good.

It would be really helpful if you could confirm how Waze and Google Maps is working, is it's audio coming through and no issue? Is it doing anything similar? Apple Maps is a special case on CarPlay.

If Waze and Google Maps works fine and V1Driver does not, I need a log.

    Goto Debug Settings in V1Driver.
    Turn On "Enable Logging"
Enter 2 in "Set Mask To"
That enables Verbose Logging, especially around audio.

    Now repeat the problem.

    Goto Back into Debug Settings
    Click "Send Log File"
Do NOT back out, the log file is immediately flushed the moment you click "Send Log File".
Please include your Forum Name, Brief description, and approx time the "FM Started Up".

Alright, I will test this out and enable logging just in case.

    Thank you for your diligence!

To clarify what I was asking about in the last thread, was originally (before I installed the new version of SYNC3 which supports CarPlay), I used to only have available a bluetooth connection to SYNC3. Now that I have CarPlay available, I must plug in, in order to utilize it. I have left the bluetooth pairing in place as a backup for any moment I'm not plugged in as to let me still answer a phone call. For some reason, bluetooth WILL still pair with a CarPlay connection made.

Do you feel like I should just sever that bluetooth connection altogether to allow for better testing?

It’s standard to leave it for exactly the reason you describe. It’s automatically turned off when you plug in.
