    Hey Johnboy00,

I've been setting a few user marks at speed trap spots.

What I'm getting as I drive on that road later is often a shorter distance of warning than I'd like. (I'm already in "close" visual range by the time I get a warning) Of course, I can mark them earlier on each side and get further spaced apart warnings for each side so it's not an issue.

As the programmer / creator, do you have any tips? Am I maybe doing it wrong?

You're not doing it wrong. User marks functionality was written long ago and it needs some more options, like warning distances for each type of mark. I'll put it on my list.

That's cool. I know you have discussed some changes for them as well as some ability to view them.
Just making sure I wasn't missing the forest for the trees. :)

Between my wife, kids, job, and other interests, I just haven't had much time lately to work on new features. It's really hard sometimes to look at monitors all day long at work and then go home and do it all night.

Release 1.0.5 will add one more custom mark, and configurable warning distances for each type of mark, from 400 to 3200 meters (1/4 mile to 2 miles). Coming this weekend.

I wish I could push the "Like" button multiple times and it would show up as such. :)

What will the new mark be? Speedcam? I was looking for it a few days ago and it seems to have gone. (If it was there in the first place), we do have pothole, but I'd be playing that like a piano on some of our roads.

Speed Cam has been there since user marks were supported.

The following mark types are (will be) available:

    1. Red Light Cam
    2. Speed Cam
    3. Speed Trap
    4. Pothole
    5. Other (text can be customized)
    6. Other2 (text can be customized) (v1.0.5, not yet released)

Each mark type can be configured separately for warning distance (v1.0.5):

    1. 400 meters (1/4 mi)
    2. 800 meters (1/2 mi, default)
    3. 1200 meters (3/4 mi)
    4. 1600 meters (1 mi)
    5. 3200 meters (2 mi)

Before v1.0.5, the warning distance was hard coded to 500 meters.

I have to test this some more this afternoon after some storms have blown through my area, and then I should be releasing this evening.

Here's a preview of some of the other stuff included (there's much more). The Ka Seg option will show Ka data by segments as defined in custom sweeps.

For a future release, is there any way to have J-out alerts flagged as such? That way the alerts aren't mistaken as legitimate when looking through the history.

Unfortunately, the alert data itself has no J-out indicator, so that eliminates a completely straightforward solution. What I may be able to do, though, is trigger on a "J" bogey counter value and then tag the most recent alert. This may only be possible when there is only one recent alert, or I might risk tagging the wrong alert.

Any chance we can make a category of User Marks direction-dependent? Like, for example, if we choose to set option #2 direction-dependent, and we mark it while traveling north, it'll only alert when we are approaching it while traveling north?

Yes, and this was already on my to-do list.
