I have a single RX on the rear of my Genesis sedan, will this be effective against guns like PL3/4? How about a Stalker XLR?

I would say probably against the PL 3/4 but the XLR may be tough--I think your sedan is fairly wide in the rear! I would do 2 to be completely safe if it were me, you dont want to go around thinking you are good to go, and your not really at 100%

Against non VPR old guns you would probably be OK, there was some testing of it and here is the thread where someone posted the GOL test of single head:

www.rdforum.org: Any ALP single head tests on a car?

Stalker punched through a lot as did the TSS in some cases... it's better than nothing, but Dual would be a much more solid solution.

I run a single ALP head on the rear of my car just for this data. And though everyone agrees its not going to be the ideal or even good protection i have been very happy with real world results against older guns and even some new. Even testing: www.rdforum.org: ALP testing Mazda 3

I am in the same boat since one Alp head got water , $$$ to replace one single sensor. Hopefully cops dont often shoot the rear.
Perhaps replace the whole rear with the new comer ?

From the center of your single RX sensor, take a tape measure and pull it out at 20”. The circumference of 20" will cover the area in the back. Past 20” will not be covered and will get a laser reading. Best bet is to invest in another one when you can to cover the other areas in the rear. As long as you have one, it's a start but not guaranteed full protection. Be aware you still may get a ticket even if you only run one. Drive safe and keep a close look out. Use Waze & a good radar detector.

I was able to test my single rear head over the weekend at the track in Vegas with a Prolaser 4. Tested 5 different areas and all were JFG except when shooting the top of the roof, there was a 100’ PT on one run, the the next run was JFG. PL4 isn’t the toughest, but I was still surprised with the excellent single head performance, esp considering the amount of real estate.

While I was waiting for another head, I did a test of a single ALP on the back of my F150, had the head taped to the top of the tonnue cover and I was JFG with my PL3 lol--
