I got a K band alert as I was approaching a small town and just assumed it was a store or something. I drove though the town and as I was about to the end got blasted with K band at point blank by a cop in a driveway going 43 in a 35. I wasn't sure if it was 35 or 45 which is why I wasn't going slower, but I confirmed on the way home it was 35. You hear all the time about small towns busting people for like +2, so I guess it was my lucky day.

The R1 did it's job, but I'm an idiot and should probably be more careful in small towns and should take K band alerts more seriously. You live you learn I guess.

Glad the 'lesson' wasn't too painful. Especially without a rabbit, extra care is warranted.

It is 50/50 around me with the small town, some run Ka, but a good amount run K. Only one (that I have encountered) runs I/O K. I got hit twice with oncoming LEO's within a mile of each other on the same road, full blast. Have to be extra careful anywhere in that town!

The R1 will protect you but watch out for I/O or moving I/O in Missouri!

I always slow down in small towns because I know they depend a lot on traffic enforcement revenues. Plus, it's usually tough to fight a ticket when the judge, cop and prosecuter are all kin.

I run Waze everytime I drive. There might be the rare occasion where the speed limit shown doesn't match the actual PSL but almost 100% of the time I can look at what the PSL is supposed to be on the screen.
Bonus; Sometimes LEOs are marked as well! :)
