    Lol.
    No worries.
I think they just added this. It wasn’t there before.
I just stumbled on it when I installed my RC-M last week.
Its there for the RC-M as well.

I download the firmware but the RC-M doesn’t do anything when I plug the USB and turn on. Do I have to delete all files on the USB and copy the new 6 files (front / rear ) or just replace the 6 files with the new ones and keep the other files ?

Try a different thumb drive first.

It also should be formatted in FAT32.

Download it to the hard drive. Unzip it to the USB thumb drive. Plug it in.

I am using the same USB drive that came with the RC-M.
I download the zip file in my PC. Extracted the zip file in too the USB drive.
The new files had the exact same name as the old files in the USB.
I replaced the old files with the new files keeping the old config files

    Car was off
I plugged the USB drive in the cable.
    Turned on the car
    Nothing happened.

Try, if it's physically possible, to plug the USB drive directly into the CPU.

I (and a couple others here) had problems updating while using the provided USB extension cable.

Ohh that might be the cause then.
The CPU is not that accessible. I will try and see if I can reach it.

Could you confirm if I have to delete the config files in the USB and only keep the new downloaded files?

I don't have the instructions in front of me but I vaguely remember some reference to having a clean drive with only the current install files.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to format the USB drive and just drop the current firmware/database files on it...

Alright, I formatted the USB drive in FAT32. I copied only the files downloaded and still didn’t work.

I don’t have access to the CPU for now. I will try latter to dissemble below the steering wheel and see if I can get access to it.

    Thanks for the help anyways.

Use a different USB thumb drive.

The provided one did the same thing to me.

Plugged it in, got a brief red flash on the thumb drive then nothing.

Used another thumb drive I had hanging around and it worked right off the hop.

It was a Lexmar 32 gb 3.0 usb.

Worked first shot. I have my usb cable strung out into the glove box.

Woooot I tried a different USB drive (Kingston’s) and it worked like a charm.

    Thanks !!!!

One question, do you leave the USB connected in all times or you remove it after update?

Remove it. It’s flashed in the memory.

    Lol. Your welcome.

Ah, I thought it was the cable that was at fault. Ok, I'm going to reinstall my cable and just use a different USB drive from now on.

    Thanks @Heywood!

Yeah it looks like the original supplied Radenso USB drive is bad.
