Sorry, you should read this then.

It’s how the tests are taken. Exactly as I’ve stated earlier.

The Leo’s can keep trying and scare people, but there’s too many veritables and they generally get thrown out of court.

You friends should’ve fought it. It’s a BS ticket IMHO

It may be a tough to enforce city bylaw, but it’s still not province wide.

I’ve never got one in all my years of riding in the city. Then I’m not being an idiot either when riding around reving and red lining.

My bikes are far from quiet when I get on them. Time and place I guess.

I got questioned once about it when pulled over on an unrelated matter. I told the cop to crack down on idiots that think shoulder checking and signal lights were an option instead of sitting on his ass asking me about my pipes. Then I would consider his enquirers if I thought my pipes might be too loud.

As much i hate surveillance ...how many times a noisy drivers wake me up during night ...or wake the children . They calculate a driver can wake up 20,000 people in large cities

The technology cant supply for the lack of civism ...education yes.

The take I get from the article is more people are getting angry about the excessive noise and councillors are pushing for revisions to the noisetrap procedures/tech to actually make them effective.

I think the article mentioned that the bylaw has been relatively useless so far. So they want the "pilot project" to continue.

They need to put one of these outside my meth head neighbor's house. Revs his Harley in his garage for those sweet NOX and CO fumes all hours of the day.

    That's from 2011....

I'm talking recent, like within the last 3 years. They've cracked down much harder since that article.

    I know. They try.
The eps information is from 2010. They keep pushing it.
It’s BS. I still haven’t been nailed. Then again I try to be respectful of my surroundings.

They come in very handy with the bad drivers we have in Edmonton. Especially the ones that think driving with ear buds is a perfectly good solution to a stereo or talking on their phones.

So here is why this subject is a double edged sword.
Photo-noise enforcement. As with a lot of people, I am not happy with all the big brother surveillance going on related to in this subject but on the other side is the need for the public to have some semblance of peace after getting home from work or weekend rest. I can tell you from working decades of shift work (already a lack of sleep) and listening to absolute idiots running their vehicles all year IN A MOSTLY RESIDENTIAL AREA and me losing precious sleep that something needs to be done. My car is loud, very loud. When I leave my house I idle down the street and head out of town. Then I enjoy the driving. In the winter when bikes and cars are put away I hear the diesel 4 X 4's performing their "rolling coal" maneuver or the ricers with the "cans" going all night long! In the warmer months add to that, the cruisers and sport bikes!

[QUOTE="Heywood, post: 1043445, member: 11872" I still haven’t been nailed. Then again I try to be respectful of my surroundings.

So now we have a whole community that I live in with arms up about noisy vehicles because a few clowns need to race or rev where people live. It is beyond me why some of them ask why...........

Vehicle requesting review of photo enforcement for noise again there's no money in it but one loud vehicle can irritate a lot of people but it's hard to enforce photo enforcement attempts have failed many time.Hey Leo put down the donut and get to work

I would be in favor of this. I can't stand the idiots that run vehicles that are so loud you have to plug your ears. I love loud, rumbling muscle cars, but there is no reason to rev them up in the neighborhood. I used to race motorcycles and had loud pipes (nice sounding, not rattle crap sounding), but I didn't run those through neighborhoods or bounce them off the rev limiter. Deisel trucks blasting out the black smoke at 110+ decibels? No thank you.

Wouldn't walking the yellow line, or toe-heel-toe walk to help the officer determine a persons sobriety be the same (helping)? Or counting backwards from 100.

I don't know about Canada, but here in Colorado, USA you don't have to perform any of the roadside sobriety tests. You do need to consent to a breath or blood test at the hospital if they do arrest you though, if you want to keep your license.
