So far the DSP NR / NR combo works great with ALP Connect. After using a V1 for ages, and recently with V1Driver and JBV1 apps, (and trying the R3), i can see that there is some room for improvemente/enhancement to the ALP Connect app.

I'll focus on Android, as I like the fact that the App is brought to the front on an alert, which is crucial for ALPs, It would be great if the 3 radar profiles could be more adjustable too and not have to rely on the 3 ALP profiles.
    • Add Ka sensitivity to the radar profiles

    • Allow for Highway sensitivity adjustment like the City profiles have. Otherwise, users are left with only 2 profiles to customize.

    • I like the way City Filter alerts flash on the screen indicating that something is alerting, but if we could see the band and frequency that would be helpful (including arrows would be best.)

    • Similarly, for the Radar Speed Limit, if it is muting the RD when under the speed, it would be great to know that something is being muted, what and where the alerts is coming from.
    • adding some of the features found on the R3 menu would be great, such as disabling voice, etc
I hope this is just the start of great things coming to NR, as the DSP looks promising!

(BTW, I'm not even asking for in app/on the fly NR changes YET) ;)

Are you experiencing a "tin can" sound if you are connected to your stereo BT ... and it goes back to normal on next alert ?? I get this if i am streaming pandora - this STEREO MUTES - AWESOME FEATURE BTW- but then the streaming comes back in a Tin Can sound until next alert. Very strange
I can provide video but i fear it might deter others from purchasing such a fine system. No my iphone is not jailbreaked .. yet ..

Thinking maybe my issue is ios iphone related.

I HAVE no problem converting to my android instead.

Been on R3 in worktruck for last 3 wks so il have to wait to test that theory.

Anyways are you on BT sync on your stereo ... and do you stream ??

Oh ... when it does this ... the stereo shows my phone like its a real phonecall ... if i "hang up" the "call" then the BT disconnects the ALPconnect app. Very strange.

With iOS, I will get the “tin can” too, when I’m steaming music. I stream music to my phone, but use the 3.5 headphone jack to an AUX port in my OEM system. After awhile, my music returns to normal, not necessarily with the next alert. Therefore, I’m not using any BT connection to my car’s audio system — slowing or interfering with APL Connect.

I’m not too put-off by it, as I run my phone (iPhone X) separate from my ALP display (an old iPhone 6).

Thinking of doing the same oir trying android instead.

Glad im not the only one. !

So it can be fixed by shortening the code that is causing it relatively easily . Use a time out
    I.e with minimal coding cost
Yeah sometimes mine will time out too but i usually get a k False which resets it.
IRONICALLY i have been begging for k band fslses lately !!! L0L.

I have to say as far as the App is concerned im pretty happy with it, BUT i would love to be able to have some different alert tone options, as well as being able to turn voice off for radar alerts but keep Laser voice on !! (This would be amazing)
Personally i think the latch time issue would be #1 priority for me as far as Net Radar concerns. It does get annoying when you are stuck behind a Honda/Acura (main culprits here) and have to constantly keep muting in order to keep her quiet. Generally i will switch to my city profile to keep her quiet but again it would be nice to not have to do this.
It looks like BRD is working on some things as the MRCD falsing update has been released. I hope they will focus on the latch time issue next as this is my only "annoying gripe" if you will with the NR antenna. Otherwise i have been extremely pleased so far with the DSP.
Great thread @tphank1 ...Suggestions only lead to improvements !

I've modded my Android ALP Connect to get rid of the Radar Voice, and just did so on a jailbroken iOS, but by far prefer to run ALP Connect on Android. Running the NRDSP/NR combo along with my V1, I am very happy to report that the arrows on the V1 and NR are very close to being in sync... THere are times that the DSP low position, and greater sensitivity can attribute to some odd arrow displays once in a while, but those are few,

@ThreePedals6.2 , which app version do you use? Android or iOS? on Android, it should be fairly easy to substitute your own alert tones for Ka, K and X...

    Android @tphank1
You did PM me previously how to do this and it's much appreciated, but I dont want to turn this thread into something other than a suggestions thread.
I would just love to see these as options on the platform that BRD and team maybe can incorporate down the line.

I would love it if the app could automatically expand the size of a radar lockout. It seems like I can get a brief alert sometimes for a previously locked out stationary K band false before I hit the location where the lockout starts. If an alert continues into, and matches the frequency of, an existing lockout, I'd like the lockout location to automatically expand to the start of the current alert. I feel like my auto-learn run to one of my primary office locations was maybe on a "low range" day...

Another suggestion - for iOS at least - this is minor, but if possible at all, it should be easy to implement. Could the warning message for radar alerts (when ALP Connect is in the background) be changed from simply “Radar” to maybe “Radar 34.696”? The audio alert tells front or rear and band. Frequency is the other info that I wish I had in some situations. I have been running Waze in the foreground most of the time.

If you have run NR for a while the Radar talk becomes annoying when it keeps repeating itself, i cant imagine it repeating the frequency!
Btw That is not as easy fix as turning the voice on/off the way the app is currently setup.

No, no, the text is what I’d like changed. When Waze is foreground and ALP Connect gives a radar alert, the text of the notification that appears is just “Radar”. I’d like it if that text could include the frequency, that’s all.

After the last update are you still having this issue?. We included a few changes to the Latch and Name repeating to the last update. Those changes should be noticed in HiFi module and we will add additional changes to the BT App's at the next scheduled BT update.

Thx for the info Tom. I run the app almost 100% percent of the time so I cant say.
Since you said this though, I will gladly give HiFi a run down and report back.

Im surprised not much has been said about this Tom, but since the updates the latch issue is basically no more, so thank you for that. That was one of the biggest annoyances IMHO and you guys got it pretty much nailed down.
    Anyone else notice the changes?

Now if we can only get the new Honda/Acura falses figured out lol :)..

I have totally noticed a massive improvement with muting and the latch of a signal. Now my aggravation lies in gmc, mainly Cadillac and Tahoe models. The Acura and Honda not so much. You can bet on at least a handful of Tahoe/Escalade detections with a full days drive.

Thanks for bringing this thread back - I had another thought about a possible app enhancement. Could the signal count be split out by antenna - i.e. instead of showing a 2, show 1 ahead / 1 behind or 0 ahead / 2 behind? Again, this feels like maybe a simple but useful change.

I can’t wait to see what enhancements arrive with the future standalone NetRadar product - am hoping that this brings lots of good stuff to us ALP/NetRadar owners!

Hondas and Acuras still punch through, otherwise the BSM filtering spot on.
I'm getting very good Ka and K range with the DSP and the arrows are subjectively as accurate as my old V1. I'm pleased.
