Not a WAZE user, but that would have gotten a "NO................but I could smell you good" reply from me.

I guess at least a few LEO's don't take themselves too seriously.

I saw someone that was a Leo that would park along the roadside to do paperwork and would always mark himself on Waze to get the points, since he wasn't enforcing anything at the time he didn't care about being pinned and well why not get the points. I'm sureany of the ones that sit doing the aircraft traps probably ly recognise my Waze name by now

I believe some just mark fake traps just to get Waze users to slow down when they are not even there.

Maybe, though if you report and it gets voted down quickly without any likes that does hurt your reporting ability supposedly... I'm sure they do fake it sometimes, at most it slows me for a couple tenths of a mile... Not a big deal, and my high status will blast that fake pin away

That would actually be for safety and not for money, why do that?

Best part about Waze is marking for laser. Hard to mark rollers!

Dang it, I’ve got to think of something good for next time. Maybe “I could smell the donuts.”

I had a conversation with a LEO recently. He told me "I mark myself on Waze - filters out the normal speeders and just leaves me the idiots. Plus I get the points!"

Big cities specially, I remember after the one time I got marked as a cop when shooting my LIDAR. I marked myself with 50+ thumbs up lol

This is how modern cops/departments should think about Waze: Don’t fight it. Embrace it and adjust your tactics and thinking about who you’re going to catch and how.

Seems kind of dumb marking yourself. Personally, I would find some nice hiding spot that you couldn't see me and hit people with FF I/O. I know several places in my area that are NEVER used. But, I'm a sneaky SOB and I wouldn't want to be in my area if I was trooper.

But, lucky for us, there are so many stupid people on the road and the LEOs really don't have to work hard to catch people. It always amazes me to see some idiot doing psl+20 with no CMs and see him run through a trap clearly marked on Waze.

That makes the assumption that the officer agrees with revenue generation via speed laws. Not every cop does. Some just want to pick off the gross offenders (who probably are flirting with actual reckless driving), and leave the people driving safely at an extralegal speed alone. Exactly the opposite of the officers who find a little hole to hide in on a spot where everyone naturally lets their speed creep up.

Those that do get pulled over even with a waze warning deserve it.... Belt Parkway NY: Waze, CO KA, and icing on the cake Stalker XLR to nab the dumb@sses (2) who flew past me on my right (i was in center lane already giving space to the LEO who was ahead on the shoulder) only to get Stalked just around the bend...

Here leos found a way to beat wazers : since wazers are ignorant of the kill zone , ignorant of the difference between radar/laser , they slow down way too late ...i saw drivers accelerating in the kill zone ...with a surprise few seconds later.

Red dot : shooter with stalker xr on the overpass.
