Sounds good. I'm sure you'll fine a little hole, and maybe squeeze it through an existing grommet, and seal it with some tape. :)

...And i meant to ask, did you get the phone/ALP connected to car audio... was the volume improved ?

Yup, but it introduces a slight delay if you do it through car audio.

You can actually increase the volume from the profiles you set via the ALP to sound louder from your phone. Hence why im thinking a dedicated phone so it won’t interfere with the car system, but I can use the car play/phone from my personal phone when required.

Maybe I should just wait for you and @Aucklandradar to come down and help me out ;)

Let me Talk to Auckland Radar. We'll see what bunch of detectors we can gather up, and we'll come down for a test day. We could definitely schedule some type of test for the end of May or early June. Just to give us a change to collect more detectors.

I guess by that time the 8500ci will be installed in my truck. But I'd remove it and bring it down for comparison.

Hey @KiwiBloke, absolutely man, anytime we're testing in your area you are very welcome to turn up and hang out with us, do a couple of runs at the radar with your own gear. hell yes, we want to encourage that exact type of participation.

I'm really looking forward to getting that 8500cii+ installed. i was telling the other guys i'm expecting 9500ixi performance, because it's a M4 international platform, just like the 9500ixi. That 9500ixi has shone like gold in 2 separate test sessions now. Very happy with its performance. Turns out its even better than the Redline ProA. That was a real eye opener for us because for years, without test verification we all assumed the Redline was best.

    So yeah, fingures crossed :)

I invested(wasted) a lot of money on detectors. Its been a long learning curve, i reckon i know enough now, but happy and very keen to keep exploring new possibilities as newer equipment is released.

Today, the learning curve, and the financial costs all paid off. ....again.

Today on my motorcycle I had one of the most rewarding saves I've ever had. Now I've had half a dozen saves like this over the last 5 years, and it's these experiences that make it all worth while.

I'm fanging along on my bike, and I'm really fackin moving man. when my Uniden R1 starts churping.... I brought the bike back to the speed limit, and ended up getting 2km detection. The boys in blue were running the 2 car scenario today, because after i passed the first car the signal fadded but never died, and then started to ramp up again! Sure enough, a second car following behind. I've had a ticket like that before, sneaky bastards.

Anyway, when i think about the consequences of getting caught today at the speeds i was doing, I would have received a $400 fine, lost my licence for 30 days, incurred 50 demerit points, and had the bike impounded for a month, at my expense. And i think at today's speeds i would have made the 6 o'clock news too :)

Has the Radar detector learning curve been worth it?...... hell yes!

Or been done for dangerous driving (speed). Detectors have saved me a lot of money and shoe leather over 30 odd years too.

PS. Was there a 2 in it, and a 3 or more?

    Even T7,
Yeah the weather had been pretty **** lately.

As long as I get some good detection footage I'm pretty happy. I'm a simple guy

Here's a video of a redflex k band camera on Mill Road vs my redline ex

Well it's good that the EX is detecting it , but still, not a lot of warning

I know that camera, it's not the fault of the EX, that camera is a brutal beast, right in the valley, pointing down... sneaking fuqkers.

Weather wise it was pretty good down here at the weekend, spent most of it on hobby related activities out so I didn't get a dedicated drive in but managed a short fun ride in transit until the weekend traffic got in the way. Had just enough time left over the chariot a clean since it has been a little over 2 weeks since it last had some love and on a black car, that shows...
