if I ever owned a Ferrari... (not be be pessimistic, but thats highly unlikely to happen for me) :( Id still do the install myself. Its more "touchy-feely" time with your sweet ride.... :D

Plus... id trust no one else other than me or maybe the Ferrari stealership. I am methodical, and careful. I spent the last 2 weeks putting a triple front install on the wife's '15 Expedition... thats a fraction of the cost of a Ferrari, and I made sure I didnt even drill a single hole or harm the Expedition in anyway...

To each their own, but my skill set in life doesn't align with putting a system like this into a car without potentially messing something up (or spending a ridiculous amount of time not doing so).

It sounds like there's a good amount of people here that would feel they could put this system in my car. However, that's not me.

Considering that more than one shop has quoted a similar price, I now consider it fair.

Regarding custom work, I'll post what we come up with. However, this system will be installed to the highest standards, will have custom made mounts and brackets, will look oem, and will be able to be uninstalled without leaving nearly any sign it was ever there.

After doing the homework I have, I'm good with the price. Trying to save $1-2k on install, could easily cost me a tremendous amount more with a lower end shop. I'm not one to cut corners. And while I'll do my due diligence to ensure I'm not being taken advantage of, I don't believe I am in this case.

To pay more to ensure this is done right makes sense to me.

Sorry I’m late to the party, but I was quoted a similar labor charge to install an ALP system with 5 sensors, BT, and front and rear radar for my Macan. The pics of a prior Macan were spectacular. I chose not to do it because of my personal ROI, but your estimate isn’t out of the realm of possibility if you’re looking for stealth and an OEM fit and finish.

Might be in your "best" interest to post up a picture of your car front/rear so some of our Experts can place them for you, I would not rely on a shop that doesn't do these everyday to place them for me--asking for a disaster if you do!!

I spent $700 on my rear install which was done exactly the way I wanted and was as clean as it could be done. It wasnt cheap but the craftsmanship was worth it, the way they created the mount on the backside of the bumper to make it perfectly level and square. As others have said, this is a pricey quote but if they go for a clean OE look it takes time and skill to not fook up your nice ride :) For that price however, I would like some assurances that the system tests well before handing over that kind of money.

X2, I get the whole need for it to look factory inside with brackets and bezels etc., but outside install is critical and I don't care " how nice" it looks. If it doesn't work or work well, it's a waste of $6500.....

Do these shops even have the requisite guns to do even rudimentary tests and ensure that its working well?

I had to redo the Roush install that was " professionally done" for ER because knucklehead installers had 9500ci head mounted poorly and behind metal. Looked great ( unseen) , but performed horribly. Once redone, rocked like a new unit! As good as many installers are, I prefer function over form anyday.

I was thinking about this the other day on airplanes. You think pilots and designers really want all of those pitot tubes and static air pressure indicators all over their " clean" aircraft? Of course not, they'd prefer a design that had a totally clean " tube" or cylinder flying through the sky. But, following, function over form, the pitots are still entirely necessary for airspeed etc. so, sometimes, you don't always get what you want, but certainly what you need.

Being that cost seems to be comparable amongst all the installers OP researched, comes down to who OP is most comfortable with after interviewing the installers and knowing what needs to be done and how it will be done. Knowledge, regarding where and how sensors are to be mounted, is power.

    Best of luck with install.

Pics please after install is done. Besides wanting to see the car, I want to see what a $6500 install looks like.

The one thing I have noticed with many shops who do installs of RD's and LiDAR jammers is that none of the ones I spoke with had any guns at all to test the setups. They depend solely on the manufacturers recommended install locations and even then they fail to acknowledge the nuances of various cars that can dictate deviations from a one size fits all approach. If there is one thing I have learned by being apart of this community is that there are so many variables to an install that need to be considered for a successful setup. If they do not TEST your setup with actual LiDAR/RADAR guns then they are taking a "best guess" with YOUR money. Even though I spent $700 for my rear setup, I had to rely on my own judgment (and others in this community) to determine what I feel would be an ideal configuration. :)

Where is this location? I am looking for an installer in TN or relatively close. Tell me how the local dealer does and I might be intrigued.
