Was wondering how effective it is todays standards. Compared to the laser shifter pro and the Zr3. I live in Michigan and the state troopers seem to always have the newest in technology

Its not safe at all for new guns
And has frequent random PTs on legacy guns especially left/right of center

Yeah I honestly would not recommend the ZR4’s at all. I would say if you have LaserShifter Pro’s and they are tested and you don’t have DE in your area, you are probably okay but it’s certainly not worth buying and installing anymore.

Or, the ZR5/LaserShifter Max are the only Escort jammers worth considering. I’d encourage deciding between that and ALP as your top contenders (and most here would recommend the latter over the former)

ZR4's always did as well as my ALP and LI's, but i only got hit a few times a year and with older guns.

For some it may be just fine, but there is quite a bit of risk with the newer guns. It may not even alert.

DET has a small niche/regional market out there. I would venture a guess less than .001% if that. Just temper your enthusiasm for running into one with reality.
I would never base my CM decision on if a system could deal with a DET as I have a better chance of getting eaten by a bear than getting hit with a DET gun around here.Make that eaten by a red haired french speaking bear. Granted if I am in Atlanta I would have to deal with a slightly higher chance. In Texas I have no chance of running into a DET. 2 Departments had them for evaluation and sent them back. Our biggest worry coming down the road is Low Power K Band I/O.
I have Quad LI 8.20's up front and continue to deal with anything thrown at me as recently as a few weeks ago in Corpus Christi.. Laser Interceptor 8.20 w 8.19 heads, Uniden R3 and Waze I am as good as possible.

I'm on the western side of the state (GR, Holland, GH etc) and LASER is rare to non-existent. The chances of you getting hit with anything around here are slim. That being said, the only LASER I have seen here has been the full size TrueSpeed guns. I was hit with DragonEye in Georgia a few months back.
I've also come across MSP using a Truespeed between Detroit and Lansing as well. I can't say how effective the ZR4 would be as I have no direct experience with them.
