I did a quick search and didn’t see a recent thread for Road Rage so I’ll get a new one started. If I missed it, move it please. Seems like this subject would have its own section. Now this is something I see every day. It usually doesn’t involve me. I have countless stories of my own as I’m sure you all do. The two I’m telling here happened this weekend and I’m not too proud of all the choices I made. Nothing too crazy, but it could have gone south quick. I need to work on letting it go and not risk something bad happening. These idiots aren’t worth it. On Sunday I’m tooling down a two lane x way in the Left lane at psl + 10. Most all the slower traffic is already in the Right lane. The few cars in the Left lane move over as I’m gaining on them. Of course I make it up to the one LLH going exactly PSL. There is no traffic in the Right lane now so they could have moved over no problem, but after a mile, they don’t. I could have easily passed them on the Right but chose to press the issue as I was getting pretty irritated at their disrespect. I slowly creep up to NASCAR drafting distance and flash my lights a couple of times. Other than brake lights, I didn’t expect much from that as it was during the day. Another mile goes by and nothing. Ok, so I’m going to have to pass you on the Right. I do a nice slow controlled lane change and pass them. I run as close to the center line as I can and nudge the Left lane to give their car a hair cut. That got their attention. So now they nut it and shoot up to run next to me and come over and run the edge of their lane. I’m not too worried because now we are up to another LLH so I match their speed and block them in. The pick up behind us saw what was going down and wisely dropped back. We tit for tat for a another mile and then I abruptly jump over at the last second to my exit so they couldn’t follow. I immediately had regrets. I shouldn’t have allowed myself to fall into this trap. I am the superior driver. Serenity now…………. Later that day I’m running the streets near my house. I’m approaching the section where it changes from two lanes to one lane in each direction. So the Right lane ends and merges into the Left. I didn’t care for the guy in front’s driving so I took him out by passing him on the Right. He saw me coming and tried to beat me to the merge. He didn’t. I was flying . I let off the gas and let it down to psl + 10. I then see in my Left side mirror this clown shooting around me. Had to be +20. I chose Not to speed up and block him and let him go by. I didn’t chase. A little bit up the road, he stands on the brakes, puts his Left signal on, and turns Right into a subdivision! Not too serious, but it could have been. I feel better about this one that I made a good decision not to block him or follow. I have seen too many videos where it hits the fan quick. All it takes is a brake check or a moron to make a bad day. I know I can control my car, but I don’t trust the rest to do the same. Most people have no clue about auto Physics. I vow to be the better man so we BOTH make it home even if that means “you win”. - That’s mine. What's your Story ?
