    What's new in this release?

    * Option to launch Waze after connection to V1
    * Alert log map fixes and enhancements
    * Fixed issue where lockouts with > 10 MHz tolerance could miss an alert frequency > 10 MHz from lockout frequency but within specified tolerance
    * Auto lockouts will now be deleted from database after unlearn count is reached (they used to hang around in case of future relearning)

    Alert log map enhancements:

More info has been added to lockout markers, including created date, last seen date, and last visited date. There's a new menu item to toggle visibility of lockout circles. Long pressing an alert marker title will isolate that alert and any associated lockout for better visibility. This means that all other markers not related to the alert whose title you long pressed, or its lockout (if any), will be hidden on the map. Example:

I was using tasker to launch waze after jbv1 but now I don't need to. Thanks for the feature!

I was doing the same thing. The JBV1 auto-start was a great addition, but I had no idea you could have it open other apps too!

And I love the improvements to visualizing lockouts on the alert map.

I can't say enough good things about JBV1! Really outstanding work @johnboy00!

I'm working hard to improve the alert log map interface. I've neglected it for a long time, and it's just not as easy to use as I would like.

Well I just went for a quick spin after updating and had the app crash on any alert (laser, Ka, K). I sent two error reports. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

    Android 6.0, non-LE dongle.

Can you also enable it to detect cops 10 km's away not using radar or lidar? You seem to be able to do damn near everything else. (He asked hopefully)

That sucks! I can't reproduce yet, but I'll look for the crash reports. Does it happen when you run the Demo, too?

Crash came from overlay update. Investigating.

And actually, I only see those crashes on overlay update from a Google Pixel 2 XL running 8.1. I can't reproduce on Android 7 or 6.
    --- Double Post Merged, Jan 12, 2018 ---
The logged crashes for 8.1 appear to have been caused when exiting the app with active alerts. Not a huge deal if that's indeed the case, but still something I need to fix.

@InsipidMonkey any issues with app running in foreground?
    --- Double Post Merged, Jan 12, 2018 ---
@InsipidMonkey look for "Apps that can appear on top" settings for JBV1. If got turned off somehow, turn it on. Let me know what you found. I'll be modifying the app to check this permission to be sure it's enabled before trying to create an overlay.

This was with JBV1 running in the background and Waze running in the foreground (both auto-launched by JBV1 upon connection to the V1).

After JBV1 crashed, I restarted it and it crashed again at the next alert. I was able to reproduce it several times by triggering a Ka alert as well.

I'll check "Apps that can appear on top".

If you would, please also confirm that it doesn't crash when in foreground.

It doesn't crash when in foreground, but even in demo mode (when alerting) if i switch away from the app it immediately crashes.

I can't find this setting in Android 6.0 under app permissions in Application Manager or within JBV1 itself?

Application manager, top right menu, apps that can appear on top

It may be called "Draw over other apps" on some flavors.

Got it, had to select "Configure apps" from the top right menu, then select "Draw over other apps" under Advanced.

It was not enabled for JBV1. Enabled and it isn't crashing in Demo mode anymore :) Not sure how it got switched off, but thanks for your help fixing it!

    Whew!

I had to make a change in build target for my app in order to support some new stuff in Android 8.0+. That changed the way some permissions are checked, and maybe set by default. Anyway, the next update in dev now checks overlay permissions, will prompt to enable if not already, and will disable the overlay if not subsequently enabled. Should be releasing this fix tonight.

    Awesome, thanks!

Did you happen to add any debugging notifications to this version? I keep getting toast notifications about "Using Mobile Data" and "Using WiFi" all of a sudden. I updated several apps today so I'm not sure what's causing it.

JBV1 doesn't create any such notifications. The only part of the app that uses the Internet presently is the alert log map (Google Maps).

However, the next build will have an experimental feature that pings Google for your current location's address and shows part of it on the alert screen. This is a precursor to auto profile/sweeps pushing, to see how reliable it is in determining what city and state you're in. This feature will be optional and disabled by default, since it will use a little data.

Can you be a little more specific than "would not connect?" Did the "trying to connect" dialog appear and then go away on its own? What was the message on the splash screen at the end of the connection attempt? Was the blue light on the V1C-LE blinking or steady?

Was on Splash screen and did not go away. I am almost positive blue light was flashing. What is difference if flashing or not?

But what was written on the splash screen? If light is flashing, nothing is connected. If steady blue, something is connected.

Were you able to get connected, and if so, what did you have to do?

Have to cancel this planned feature. I didn't realize there was a quota on these queries for release builds. Oh well...
