Got my R3 in December and joined here to see how it is performing for others.
Welcome to the forum! lot of R3 owners here (R1 Personally). There is a lot of testing done here: www.rdforum.org: TXCTG Testing Index
As far as individual experience it varies a lot based on terrain. Some follks get miles of range others less than a mile due to foliage hills and curves. Either way it's going to be the best range for a windshield detector no matter what the conditions, some conditions are just tough so it may not beat the others by as much as it does under other conditions. What are you getting for detection and whats your terrain like?
welcome to the forum
Welcome. Good choice!
The R3 is a very nice unit!
Welcome ! R1/R3 are beasts. We tested the heck out of in in Texas, along with other great Rd testers here. There was a handful here like myself, that was involved in testing/designing features of the R3. Here is my YT channel. Jag42-TXCTG Rd tester

New radar detector user here. Been wanting to get on for over 4 years, trust me.. lol.... Got the Max 360 a little over a month ago. Returned it within 4 weeks because at times it would go off on the highway pretty late.
Got my Uniden R3 in the mail yesterday. Created a new login on the forum just now to post a reply. Haha..

Love my R3 so far, it is not perfect yet but hopefully Uniden will continue to improve the firmware to correct the fàlse Laser alerts and some minor functional issues.
Uniden has been making upgrades to the R1 & R3 firmware since they were released. So i believe that they will keep it up.
