Seems i can't go out at the moment without bumping into the filth...
I got another 34.7 today on the motorway, must’ve been a cop going the other way though.
I don’t get it how you always get these alerts meanwhile I’m lucky to get one ahha

Yeah , there's a lot of activity around here at the moment, the police chopper is in the air every 5 minutes, sirens going off most days....
I'd actually seen 2 cars while i was out this morning. I only popped out for 5 minutes to go to the stop.
That’s a nice long detection. 2km+

Yeah but he was on my side of the road going in the same direction, chances are he was always 7 or 800 meters in front of me, which is why it was a slow constant detection that really ramped up after he stopped at the lights and i closed the distance.
Reading the detector like a book... . I got my pointers from the Valentine 1 manual. I reckon Mike Valintine does a nice job of breaking down what you're hearing.
I'm a radar nerd.. i know it. Don't care
Haha, nice. Also surprised that greyish looking sedan - nissan? Which sped past at high speed didn’t get pulled over.

There was a lot of cars around, that radar was useless to him, he would have been overwhelmed, and that stupid doppler sounding in his ear would have had him all confused and on edge.
Plus most of the bakery's are still out on Christmas break so there a major donut shortage... he's just having one of those days. lol
Nice one. Thanks for sharing.
Love the sound of beer bottles too haha, The foot quite often gets heavy on that stretch of ti rakau too lol, come off Gossamer from school lmao.
You mention doppler, whats that?
Haha... yeah those bottles are the reason i had to pop out, so as you can imagine I've opened a few of those by now. Might not be the ideal time to explain doppler.
but here goes...
I think from memory,
Doppler was the guy that discovered the radar phenomenon where an obstacle approaching, compresses the reflected radar, and an obstacle moving away expands the radar signal
Its the calculation between the sent KA signal sent, and the returning reflected KA signal that the machine uses to tell what speed the obstacle is moving.
So then, inside his cop car this can be accompanied by an audio sound, if he is tuned into that sound he doesn't need to watch the radar display, he can just listen for the change in doppler sound.
The thing is though, this sound isn't pretty, its like a screeching that changes pitch up and down.
This doppler effect is why a siren changes sound pitch and timing as it approaches you and then goes past you.
Ah right okay, I get that... didn't realise it was a real word kinda thing otherwise I would've just googled it lol.
Makes me wonder how if a cop gets you for speeding and shows you the speed on his radar what determines its your car rather than another car which could have been doing that speed lol
M8 you should google it ... this stuff is worth knowing.
the way to hack their system, defeat their systems , avoid their systems, ... is to understand their systems as well as they do.
A computer hacker is just a guy that understands the software to the highestdegree... you and i cant hack because we dont know ****, but had we been software engineers we could have start hacking anytime we want.
So m8, learn this stuff to the point that you understand it.
As for the many cars how does he know... download the Stalker Dual user manual, it explains....
His display shows him 3 speeds, His speed, and then 2 returning speed signals as well. The first speed signal displayed is the signal that is the strongest signal, so that might be the closest car to him, or if a car and truck where almost side by side it would be the truck, because the truck has a bigger reflective surface area, so reflects the "strongest" signal.
The second speed is a faint sniff of another reflection, say a car behind the car in front, but its moving quicker, so he see's the car in front speed as the "strongest", and he has a "fastest" reading for a car that isn't he car in front, but is following the car in front and catching him up. From this he can use logic to work out who the speeders are, you just needs to observe.
I have lots of Stalker manuals on this harddrive some place, but cant find one right now. But seriously Spud, do a little research, its good to know m8.
When i find this Stalker manual i'll post it for you.
I understand this to the point where i want to get in his car and check his equipment, he's got to set it up properly, Stationary closing... stationary away.... moving, same lane, opposite lane....
I'd love to get in his car and tell him, " hey man that's bullshit man, you aint even got this thing set up right... that cant be my speed...
But, they never let me near their car, any time i demand to see the radar they tell me they don't have to show me a thing!
Around the forum, everything i have just explained to you is common knowledge, i'm aint no scholar, i've just learnt this stuff myself.
I'll try do some googling and looking into it when im not half dead with a headache haha.
Seems like theres nice cops and then just plain bum cops. Can't really say ive ever had an incounter with them..
I've only been pulled over once.. week after I got my car with my grandma in the back lmao, 'random check'.
I believe they're very active trying to reduce the road toll. I saw three in 3 km's at Appleby one day.
What do they call people constantly doing the same thing and expecting different results?
PS. Nice explanations Tseven. Doppler is measuring the rate of change of the return frequency. As for cops understanding their kit. 90% wouldn't even know what freq it's running. They only get around 3 -4 weeks traffic training down in Kiddie Kop Kollege, the MOT guys got 3 months.
Yeah when I got done speeding the copper refuse to show me the speed reading then said it resets and laughed in my face and said you can try fight it in court **** the system

A pack of shunts.
