I haven’t tweaked with the app much since the update, only tried adjusting the auto mute level via the app, which was greeted with the app crashing. I tried making this adjustment to the RL-EX that I have been driving with for 2 days now. I haven’t boxed up the 360 yet to send back, so Sarge if there is anything you want me to test on that regarding the app let me know.

I can confirm I was able to set debugging to off, and alert history worked.
My phone is running 7.0 - so if the issues is OS related, its rather widespread.

Just some other differences I’ve noticed between having the 360 and the EX connected to the app:
    * Escargot will display multiple alerts from the 360 on its screen simultaneously (also showing F/R signal strengths); EX only only signal is displayed at time on the app (I am assuming its the priority signal, but have yet to encounter multiple sources with different bands w the EX)
    * Waze Alerts via Escargot on the Max show distance & direction via a compass arrow, on the EX you only get the distance countdown. (Photo attached).

You guys like have the PSL notification? You do not find the “over speed alert” annoying? I “unchecked” the speed limit source in the settings, so that no PSL is displayed on the RD, meaning I do not receive audio alerts that I’m over....

    Multiple Alerts
I see multiple alerts with signal strength on the Escargot app. Of course, directional information always points straight ahead with my Redline EX

Over-speed Alert: Ahhhh, that's why I got that yesterday. I have never had enough speed limits inputted into the source from which Escargot pulls (OpenStreetMap) to ever get that. Last night I had that and assumed it was some setting that had been changed somewhere and I was going to try to switch it off...I see now that if you have speed limit displayed in Escargot, you will get the Over-speed alert

    Simultaneously?

Also on the ride in this morning, the alert logging did not work for me. That is the history did not retain encounters. Prior encounters were still logged. Rebooting the phone and will try during lunch...

Yes, simultaneously. I had it work fine in the earlier version too, two days ago.

I'm guessing the BT debugging still needs to be enabled...I never disabled mine and History works fine. I'm not seeing any bug fixes if you don't get history unless you enable BT debugging.

However, I was using my phone BT to car stereo this morning and got a K-band alert that never popped up on the Escargot screen, so this was disappointing.

I know what Bluetooth LE is, I know my phone is Bluetooth LE "capable", but excuse my ignorance, how would I know if that is how it connects to the Escort Redline EX?
Does the Redline EX utilize Bluetooth LE?

Good question :) I dont have Bluetooth LE and mine doesnt crash. I am just looking for the common denominator here. I am pairing with a Max2 and not a Ex or 360.

Ok, I just realized I failed to answer an earlier question. All of my audio is via my RD.

As for BT LE. Yes my phone is capable. After rebooting and enabling debugging the alerts where there.

Another issue I AM seeing (no biggie), the alert will remain on the dashboard/map even after it is past.. (I am now seeing alerts simultaneously on the EX).

I booted up the M360 and was able to change the settings without issue. Try the EX and app crashes. So it looks like in current form with my setup Escargot is good for alert logging and waze alerts.

Screen grabs of alerts from the two different RDs attached. An aside, I was infront of the same grocery store with 3 known falses. Looks like the freq registered different on the two RDs... These readings were within 1min of one another.

Ha...the common denominator is that it crashes with the Redline EX. I thought the app was designed with the 360 in mind, but perhaps it was the Max...at any rate, any other detector from Escort that works with Escargot is likely based on the similarity to whatever the Max has.

I don't worry about frequency differences too much if it's stationary K-band from door openers. Those are cheap RADAR transmitters and the frequency emitted isn't designed to be that stable...they can drift. One reason why I don't use lockouts.

Unfortunately, the Escargot app isn't really designed to be optimal for the Redline EX. It seems to be best on the MAX and less so on the EX or the 360. I have had the retention of past signals problem before using my Original Redline and I toggled between the MAP and the DASHBOARD to get them off the DASHBOARD. At times I needed to restart the app. I think I'm going to try some things this afternoon to see if I can change settings from the Escargot app and NOT have it crash.

What is amazing to me is that there is no way to get a HISTORY in the Escort Live app, even when it doesn't crash. Sure, it says you had a Ka, K, etc alert, but that's not as helpful as the actual frequency.

    I gotta a ?
When editing Open Streets Maps how do you section off a highway for PSL? In other words,...a highway is 60mph until it starts to come into a small town and drops to 45mph....How do you start and stop various PSL on the same road?

Same question I had. I got a message that I'd moved a bridge inputting a speed limit, so after I fixed my mistake, I messaged that person back asking that question.
Edit to add: I've tried moving the end of the highlighted road. What I've decided to do for the time being is just leave that section of road blank and go farther down the road to add the speed limit. I've noticed that when I use escargot, there is a pretty large lag in having PSLs come up.

Well, my solution to the escargot issue is just to run EL in th background. EL to change settings and Escargot to record alerts. EL crashes, but that's running in the background so I just restart it but the PSL shows on the detector (unchecked in Escargot) and I get Escort Live alerts. I keep Escargot on top and it's showing all alerts from WAZE and recording them fine. Too bad I have to have both apps connected to one detector to get what I want.

See I just run Escargot for the Max2. It does everything I need without crashing. I'll work on this PSL mapping issue some here after dinner. i dont know what the issue is with Redline Ex but apparently there is something.

Well I now know to place a speed sign/MPH/Direction but I'll be damned if I know how. Still working on it.

To change the speed limit on a section of road, I just use the browser editor. I select the section of road and then box pops up with information about it. I then select speed limit and scroll for the speed. In the map, there's an Enter button. Press that and a pop up in that editing window appears, select Have someone look over it (or something like that) and then hit the Save button in the actual map towards the top. To get out of the editor, just click on the OpenStreetMap logo at the top.

Yeah but how do you select just one section of a long road?

The only crash I get is if I try to change the sensitivity. But running both I get the EL alerts which around me are actually useful.

In other words...I have hwy 361....60mph and I did that. but when it get to town it drops to 45mph and then 30mph.
Right now it shows 60mph all through town :)

When you select it, how long is it, generally?

It selects the entire hwy the entire length of the Island :)
[doublepost=1515809279,1515809246][/doublepost]I'm all about 60mph the entire way but the Fudd may get cranky about it.

I was fortunate that most of the ends of my road sections were close to where the PSL changes. I think there was one section that went from 35 to 45 I did that I'm off by maybe 30 yards or so. I did see a section that I can't shorten with no PSL now so I left it alone. Still no answer to my question that I sent the person who asked me to correct a bridge I moved. So, I'll see if I can find anything.

Just for any future user dropping by.....and I give @drtoddw the credit here....use the 2n editor in openstreetmaps...take the scissors in your toolbox (lower right corner of the screen) cut the section you wish to change the posted speed limit (PSL) and the app will let you change the speed for that section.
So if you have a highway with say a 65mph that goes through a town and the PSL reduces as you enter town and then increases as you leave town you can adjust the PSL this way.
    Thanks again @drtoddw
I can tell you when you edit the map be it PSL or Red Light Camera ( or anything) it shows in Escargot Drive in less than 30 minutes. So the cloud is updated quickly.
