During my recent trip to the Sunshine State from the Winter Wonderland, I crossed the Ohio River using the I65 toll bridge between IN and KY. The signs said that the bridge would read my plate and bill me. When I started crossing, I received a Poliscan Alert first from the front, then from my rear sensors. I have a 2-CPU set-up, 3 sensors front, 3 sensors mounted rear.
Has anyone else come across this? I shut off at 3 seconds but if I had let it go JTG, would I avoid getting the bill?

That's probably the Vitronic toll collection system. They got one of those in Pennsylvania also and it will alert as poliscan. Poliscan is also made by Vitronic.

You still get a bill. The system still knows you passed through it, it just can't classify your vehicle type. A human operator will then review the video footage and send a bill like normal.

I tried it once few months ago. I got a call from the toll authority few days later saying their toll booth malfunctioned and wanted to verify that they looked up the correct plate. Got the bill 3 weeks later.

Eh if you have a tag then it's not an issue.

I've been jamming my local one for 5 years now without any issues.

Fun trivia fact, most of this promo video by Vitronic was filmed in my town.

Interesting replies. It's been two weeks, I haven't received a call nor have I gotten a bill... yet. I'll wait and see.

We have something similar on our motorways here, sadly you still get the bill, but if your over the speed limit they get you for that also.

    Sounds like you have a nice setup (2 cpu . . . 3 front/3 rear heads).
With the cameras mounted so high it would be my best guess that the Poliscan would not be jammed. This is based solely on the recommendations of some international users that mount their jamming heads at a 15 degree angle to the side to thwart ground mounted Poliscans. In any event, hope you avoid the bill and that the heads have a wider vertical spread that they appear to have horizontally.

The bill would be only $4 so it is more an "experiment" than anything that would truly affect me. It would be great though if my set-up jammed it so that I don't get a bill.

Aim heads up at 45 degrees front and rear if you wanted to jam the toll scanners. HAHA

Otherwise IR plate cover also works well. (Ones that block IR cameras from reading your plate.) ;)

Well, it's been a month since driving through the toll bridge. Perhaps my triple front and rear may have dealt with the parking sensor interference of the Poliscan effectively.

Interesting. You don't have an electronic tolling tag like an E-ZPass do you? If you have one of those accounts they charge the account directly even if you don't have the tag mounted.

Nope, no tag. I drove over the bridge twice, once heading south and once heading north, so according to their website, if it had only been once I would not be charged because it wouldn't be worth the cost to do so. The only other possibility that I can think of is that there was about 1-2 inches of ice covering my car front and back. We only have rear plates so it may have been covered with enough ice to be unreadable.

Very interesting indeed. ALP doesn't exactly hide you from these sensors. It just messes with speed acquisition which is not a prerequisite for tolling. I've never seen a case where ALP successfully helped avoid tolls. I wonder what happened.

    In any case congrats!

More than likely it was the ice buildup on my car.
