That looks reasonable. I get by with two phones, a dashcam and a V1, but you have a much nicer car.
There wont be any self driving cars in my garage (ever !) (well, after I'm dead maybe )
First they need to get the design right. Once they get that sorted out they'll deploy them in major cities first then perhaps a few smaller markets but I doubt autonomous ever be fully deployed in rural areas. The film "Minority Report" pretty much nailed the way they'll be used. You will have control over your vehicle until you get to a major city then the vehicles self driving feature will kick in.
You could get a 7" or 8" tablet and use split screen then you only have one device to worry about/look at.
A tablet would block my cars screen that you can see in the middle. Also I would have no place to hide it whenever I leave the car. I already considered this option because android tablets are pretty cheap but unfortunately it’s just not practical application wise.
I have an extra phone specifically so I can have a huge digital speedometer. It's useful since, purely hypothetically speaking, if PSL + X is the mandatory court appearance speed, I could keep it at exactly PSL + (X-1).
All my screens...
You guys are crazy. I don't have 1 screen besides my double din haha. I'd be too distracted I think. I wouldnt mind cutting in a tablet into my dashboard for Torque and stuff tho
Wow that's a lot of screens!
I use the android for Yav1 but really it's main duty is weather. I use the hell out of that. Live weather radar comes in handy all the time. The rest of it, Waze and the BCT436 is just observed as needed. Not much of a distractino at all, I probably watch my speedo more than those two.
That's not what we like to hear
Does anyone know if I can use a Microsoft surface 3 as a GPS navigation screen if I pair it to my phone? I upgraded to a new Pro 4 and want to integrate the tablet somehow in the car if at all possible? GPS is the only usable feature I can think of at this moment. I know this really isn't the forum for this question, but if anyone can point in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

www.rdforum.org: Holy moly check this out
Lol that's too funny. I was toying with the idea of replacing my factory raido with a tablet, but after seeing that I will stick with Sirius. HA!

Wow, That's a lot of electronics you guys have set up. I don't trust anyone. Seeing stuff like that when someone parks their car, anyone can just do a smash and grab and all your expensive electronics will all be gone and perhaps more. I try my best to hide most of my electronics if I park my car somewhere for several of hours. Thief's don't care who's around if they want something badly esp for nice expensive electronics. Never trust anyone especially if it's out in the open to see. You invest a good amount of money on those nice things and it only takes a thief seconds to take them. In my opinion, it's best to hide things as much as possible so your car won't get damaged and your items won't get stolen.
[doublepost=1515994507,1515993910][/doublepost]I knew people in the years past used to see people leave their radars hanging on their windshield and they used to smash their windows because it was too easy to steal. Expensive or cheap radar, they did not care...they just took it. I never understood why people leave items like that even purses, shopping bags with items, GPS and more. Once again never trust people. Think smart and safe to protect your investments.
Where I live you can't leave anything in your vehicle so I have a bag and bring everything in at night then back out in the morning. Scosche mag mounts is the only way to go.
On that note, you guys won't believe this but some fcknut broke a lug off one of my rims trying to steel my wheels? What a freaking moron. I hate to have to school criminals but righty tightly lefty loosey. I know most street criminals don't expect a 150 ft/lb lug torque but if you bring an appropriate breaker bar they still come off counter clockwize like every other lug nut in the universe. I suppose he opted to just go for the wheels after he peered in my cockpit and saw that stick with all the numbers on it. A real mensa was at work that night.
Lucky it was a lug nut. Not expensive items like the example that others have posted here.
yeah, but I'm rolling on four lugs until the replacement wheel studs arrive.
I’m with you on the don’t trust anyone. Take all precautions that you can. People will steal anything. My RD is on the visor. You can’t see it when you walk by. You would have to bend down and look up. I shudder when I hear people say “ O we don’t lock our (house)doors. You don’t need to in this area “ O really ? What reality do you live in ?! You have just been lucky so far. Or the people that think others don’t steal “in their part” of town. O really ? There are D bags, scum, and punks in all towns. Plus the smart dumb thieves go to the richer part of town because that’s where to good stuff is and people there make themselves easy targets. I lost count of how many times I have read the Police reports section in the newspaper ( what’s a newspaper ?) and it reads “ IPod, tablet, and purse taken from unlocked car”. I have been the victim of a couple thefts from my vehicle (good part of town and doors locked) and it’s made me extremely security conscious.
Just put this on your window. Unless of course you don’t live in a free state. If you don’t then don’t put this on your window.
