    Firmware 5.4.5/7.6

    1. USB firmware upgrading has been added for the New Net Radar DSP radar detectors (coming soon).
    2. A new Radar Only Mode has been enabled - The ALP can now function in a Radar Only Mode with no connected laser sensors. By deactivating parking detection on all sensors in the online configurator, the ALP Control box no longer requires connected sensors to run attached Radar Antennas.

I dont think this update will have an official release email go out since its mostly only for future uses but wanted to list this here so that when users see the update available they will know what it is.

And before people ask I do not have an updated ETA on the Net Radar DSP.

Oh cool. Will there be an option for people to purchase the ALP with NR DSP and no laser sensors if they want a standalone remote radar setup without laser for whatever reason?

Probably you miss my question, as I edit my post.

Will it work with HW1 CPU as well?

Whoah, OK I didn't realize this.

HW1 owner here. It looks like if I want to NetRadar DSP, which will require the RG3, I'll need a CPU upgrade, too.

    Hoo boy.

Edit: I noticed there's an upgrade path (HW1 to HW2) "ALP-CPU-UPG" for $149.95. Does this involve sending my HW1 CPU in?

At some point however we will expand the Net Radar offerings and have a special stand alone system. For now this update is to allow full functionality of connected Net Radar DSP antennas and the ability to update firmware from the ALP USB Port using a memory stick.

    --- Post updated ---

Yes, You would need to send in your HW1 and we will replace it at that discounted price.

Tom thank you for the heads up. Will the alp app users be able to update using the app and not usb, like we were able to in the last update??

Nothing chances with firmware updates for the ALP. The update change is for updates to the Net Radar DSP which will be done via USB.

Thank you. I currently have the ALP quint with dual Net Radar antennas and use the alp connect app. If I upgrade to the Net Radar DSP for the front the only way to update is through usb? I'm not trying to be difficult I am trying to understand the difference in the firmware update process.

If you install a new Netradar DSP youll need a file change on a USB stick

Not sure what you are confused about. ALP Updates does not change but if you want to update the firmware in the NR DSP its done via USB.

You guys are doing an awesome job trying to incorporate many requests that have been made on these forums. Hearing that people will be able to run NR without the ALP sensors will allow a lot of people the option to either run just the NR or slowly build their system up over time with ALP capability. Many of us are definitely excited for the new DSP and cant wait to get ahold of one :)
