Yes and yes.
The overlay is key for me. So it looks like ill try it out, AND do a review.

Do it CJ! You'll be impressed!! :D
I may be. Happen to have a screen shot with the overlay working? Does it also show frequency and direction?

Think its better than YaV1? I have the old dongle.

There's a bug in current version where leaving app during demo and returning via launch icon doesn't work right and overlay shows when it shouldn't if you return via overlay or notification. This is all fixed in next update by this weekend.

On the review part, be sure to remember that the app is far from "done" and is still in beta (i.e. not flawless).

At some point the main foundation of the app is done and all the major must haves are included.

I have not tried it, been waiting on a review or how to. With out it its no better than YaV1 for me so why change.

Is there a list of what it does? Someone sell me on this app! lol
For what it's worth, I have followed the development of JBV1 and was an early adopter. You really don't need a how to as it is mostly intuitive. Transfer of settings from YaV1 is automatic, or easily set up. Muting versatility is phenomenal. Response with V1C-LE is excellent, original dongle is still very good.
If nothing else, the auto start makes it set and forget.
Developer support is brilliant too.
I loved YaV1, this is better.

Will it ever be flawless? ;)

Flawless? This is a radar detector aficionados forum, nothing is ever flawless. Someone somewhere will find a problem.

I was hesitant to switch away from YaV1 as well since it was working great for me, and why fix what isn't broken?

But someone asked me about JBV1 so I agreed to try it out for a few days and let them know, and I've been using JBV1 ever since.

@johnboy00 has done a great job with the app, and is putting a ton of time into getting it to work perfectly. If you have any questions/comments/requests he is quick to respond and incorporate them. I can't say enough good things about the app.

I am grateful for YaV1 and it worked well since day one of my V1 ownership. But JBV1 has quickly surpassed every feature I loved in YaV1 and added several new ones that I couldn't live without now.

It's definitely worth trying out, and I think after a few days you'll be kicking yourself for not trying it out sooner.

I was a YaV1 user till it starting having the issues when I moved to the LG G5, and then I got another phone to support it. Then when it did a software upgrade, that stopped holding marked locations to mute. The V30 work decent with YaV1, then I tried this JBV1 and do like overall..

As is, I'd say complete as a Screen interface, Detector options modifier, and Lockout functionally. Only the Hardware/Radar Locator needs to be upgraded. I am on the latest, and played with the mapping PSL and all. I know this is under works, but found that is is off with PSLs and when I a parking lot, still displays as if on a road that is 100-150ft away. Love to see this turn mainstream as a Escort Live type system among other drivers and even include other detectors. Add in the WAZE nav, best All in One app...here's to that future.

Keep up the awesome work

If only V1 could detect MRCD, I would be all over V1 and JBV1...
I was in the past using YaV1 with overlay over waze constantly... And ALP connect would just kick in if I get shoot with Laser...
Perfect combination...

Overlaying/interacting is most likely how we will incorporate certain apps with the RDFGS 2.0 app. I think what RDFGS 2.0's app will be is essentially a mix between Escort Live and Tasker... that's my general vision.

I started using jbv1 about a month or so ago and it's been great except for every time I drive to visit my parents (NJ-NY) it keeps shutting down multiple times. It's only a 35 mile trip and it only happens when I'm driving there never on the way back home but I don't do anything different. I am running android auto in the background.

Is it crashing, shutting down, or being killed? Are you using any other apps when driving there but not using them on the way back?

I was wondering what Sweeps should be used for Ka band and once you set up the Sweeps how do you send from the app to the detector? Also if you want to remove Sweeps do you only have to delete the Sweeps from the app for them to also be deleted from the detector? Thank you

You can find the JBV1 subforum here: www.rdforum.org: Official JBV1 Discussion Section

The sweeps you use depend on what radar guns are in use in your area. See here: www.rdforum.org: Locations where additional Ka segments (ie. segment 6) are needed
A good starting point is 34.600-34.800 and 35.400-35.600, although you may want to make them a bit wider to be safe. You don't have to (and shouldn't) specify a 33.8 sweep, as this is covered automatically by Ka POP which is always enabled in Euro mode.

To remove sweeps, you would reset the detector to factory defaults. That can be done in JBV1 by tapping the orange profile/sweep set at the bottom of the screen and selecting "Factory Defaults"/
