I still have 2 LRD950s from when they were on sale for around $150. I am running the DFR7 1.10e firmware.

Driving to work today, I got an awesome detection from a CHP sitting really far back on an on-ramp running 34.7. There is no way that you could have seen him until it was too late so without a radar detector you would be toast. It took me a while to find him even with a radar detector but the Uniden gave me plenty of warning. I have K band turned off and I am running Ka Narrow and the result is almost no falses. For the $150, this detector was an absolute steal for California. At $300, it's still a great value if you want GPS.

yeap both my father and my father-in-law love their LRD-950 xmass gifts that I gave them 2 to 3 years ago.

They live in FL and it's a life saver.

I bought 3 LDR850s for my sons for Christmas 2015. $136 a piece. They love them.

Yep, my girlfriend has an LRD850 in her car. It provides awesome detection and plenty of great saves.

I still run my LRD950 with DFR7 FW in my second car. It's an amazing detector.

I loved my LRD950 and my wife loved it to. I sold it on here to get her R3 before we moved cross country. It still is an amazing detector for it's price!!!

This weekend I got three saves from my Uniden LRD850, two of them were C/O 33.8 and one at least a five mile detection on 34.7. These Unidens are still good detectors, especially if you were able to pick them up when they were cheap. This weekend was a good one to have a detector cause I would have been toast without it.

Yeah, we have it so good with the R series now that we forget the LRD950/DFR7 is a pretty darn good detector. Especially on 34.7

Nipping at Redline,or even edging the Redline. Our 950's were pretty hot on 34.7 in testing.

How is the laser detection with the LRD/DRF series?

Laser is OK. I had it go off a few times but once you get an alert most likely you will get a ticket.

We have gotten spoiled with the R series. The LRD850 is said to have weak performance on 33.8 yet in tests it performs like an M4 detector on 33.8, which at one time was considered a good detector. For 33.8 constant on, I had more than enough warning and the LEO was behind a curve both times.

    Great detector, great value.

(I've had a couple decent laser detections with my units, FWIW.)
