All I know is that the response to the shooter was poorly executed, and the investigation is already starting to change stories. People are dropping the ball here...

Agreed. BUT with FBI involved, someone will be asking for a timeline, thats SOP in these case. Video can back up all of that.

Not at all. Maybe you misunderstand.
I merely mean how stupid and blind people are to be controlled by such events.
Absolutely nothing to do with Politics.

To cover something up. Perhaps they didn't do something by the book initially and tried to lie about it and it was contradicted...

good point, i wasnt thinking out of the box, ive been so focused on the conperesy theroy i didnt see the tree through the forrest. if that was the case, either on the police side or the SG side, it would have to be something they feared they did bad enough to lose their job or fear of prosecution.

I'm sure the overworked and underpaid hotel maids, coming across a door with a "Do Not Disturb" sign out front, was more than happy to bypass the room.

If he stayed there 4 days ( and I do not know since I have not been following the facts much) then I could easily see him being able to bring the guns up a few at a time the first couple days he was there without raising a red flag. Not hard to keep housekeeping out using the do not disturb sign. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I would think his behavior (taking up loads of guns in cases etc) would draw some attention, but at a large Hotel with thousands coming and going daily, I can easily see how he was able to remain under the radar.

Also, if a hotel employee were suspicious, and brought it to management's attention, they are less likely to ask a high roller what they are up to compared to some average joe gambler for fear of offending him and losing his business.

Security at big Casinos/Hotels is comprised of Guards that do rounds, cover the Casino floor escorting money to and from the cage to the pit etc. Then you have the Pit Boss that is to monitor guest behavior at the tables.

The ones I feel that failed in this case are the Surveillance (eye in the sky) team.
Surveillance is in charge of monitoring everybody's behavior, this means monitoring Security Guards, Pit Bosses, Dealers on the tables, Players etc. They are the ones that are in charge of monitoring the cameras in the entire Hotel. If anyone dropped the ball, I would say Surveillance would be the ones that dropped it.

Ultimately once all of the information is out it will be great to see how it compares with the evolving information from the start. Time lines are tough, 5 min sounds short normally but in a situation like this its eternity.

There was quite a few jammed guns from what i understand so i can see why there may have been long pauses in firing.

But I'll also take it all with a grain of salt till we have more of a final report.

Jams are a common occurrence when using bump stocks, from what I heard.

From what I heard many hotels have a policy to check on guests if the do not disturb sign is on the door for too long. Not sure what the policy at Mandalay Bay is but 4 days with a do not disturb sign on the door is a long time. Maybe someone did check on Paddock and he said everything was ok.

Just to add fuel onto the "wtf?" fire, apparently (1) the security guard who got shot, Jesus Angel Campos, has disappeared and (2) there is nobody by that name licensed to be a security officer in Nevada.
