Will the new shifters be compatible with the Stir-Plus system? If so, is there any advantage to running them with my current ZR4? Is "the more the better" in this case, or no?

No, I don't believe they will be compatible. Escort Radar has previously stated that "The ZR5 will not interface with your 9500ci, it would be operated separately from the 9500ci." Running multiple laser jammer systems is not a good idea because they will interfere with each other.

In that case, if i dont want to operate two separate systems (wifes car, and she would hate that), what would you recommend? Are there good shifters that do integrate with my 9500ci?

I would look at ALP, they have long surpassed Escort in terms of laser protection, they have the ability to integrate with remote radar antenna's including the 9500Ci for an all in one solution which is currently the best on the market. Depending on where you live and what Laser guns you are up against your current shifters may not be capable of protection or even alerting, escort hasn't been updating the older shifters to handle current threats. The ZR5's are coming out, so no official testing has been done yet but they are based off of the 360CI system which while improved over the ZR4's is still less capable against laser than ALP and much more expensive. If you look around here you will see some testing of the latest Escort system as well as ALP , there is plenty of good info here, more folks will chime in soon :) good luck out there!

Awesome info, thank you. Last question would be, what ALP setup would work best for a full SIZE Lexus SUV?

There is a good guide here ( https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/50343/ ), it does depend on where you are and what guns you are up against and how they use them (front only or rear shots too, overpass shots etc) based on that info folks here can give you very detailed descriptions. @BestRadarDetectors (USA distributor of ALP) is very active on here, Tom is wealth of knowledge and provides top notch service and excellent support of the product! If you don't get some folks chiming in here on this thread by tomorrow try posting up in the general laser jammer section or the Antilaser section asking for recommendations, people may not look under escort ZR5's for ALP install recommendations. They will probably ask for a representative picture of the front and rear of your model year and they will mark up the pictures with ideal locations etc. Nice thing is you can start off with one setup and grow or adjust the system as needed, ALP hardware/firmware/software is kept up to date against all the latest threats so it's a solid choice!
