I have had my Redline mounted on this more or less permanent windshield mount since 2011.

I removed the Redline mount and after removing the 2 suction cups from the R3 mount I discovered that I could use this same mount for my new R3.

    Now with the R3 mounted...

    Looks great!

I'm pondering ways I can better mount my Redline high. What mount were you using before switching over to the R3?

I used the Escort suction cups for the longest time. Then, ditched the cups, kept the metal mount and put 3M or Gorilla two sided tape on the part where the suction cups were. Trimmed it to shape and stuck it to the window. If you can stick it up behind the "frits" with the RDR peaking just below... well that was and is a good set up for me.
The R3 mount is the same really... well, two sided tape wise anyway.
I was able to remove the Escort mount AND the tape residue very easily.
So when you step up to an R3 someday ;~} rest assured it will be an easy swap.
