Please feel free to move this thread to elevated forums, not sure where this should go.

For those of us using security keys, I was thinking - is there a way to destroy the USB key (or the contents) easily. Let's say a cop is in the process of pulling you over, then I'd like the ability to wipe the key so no matter what happens the ALP will not go on defense mode. (assuming the cop puts 1+1 together, and even knows what an ALP is or even what the USB is for)

I found something like this: http://www.charontech.com/flashzero.html

That said, it's a bit of a pain to wipe.

Thoughts/suggestions?

buy a flimsy one and snap it in half maybe? Make sure you have your security file backed up everywhere so you don't hose your system. or get a usb to Micro SD card reader that looks like a flash drive and use that, those micro SD cards are much easier to snap or destroy

Buy the ALP USB Key and snap it in half if you are paranoid that is what that product is for: https://www.alpriorityusa.com/AL-Priority-Industrial-Grade-Flash-Drive.html
Lol BRD cross posted with me. I didn't even know they made those... great minds think alike

Can't say ALP hasn't thought of everything :)
Thanks. I don't view the US site as I'm Canadian. Was not aware of this.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to revieve an old thread but I have a question regarding keys.

I activated this anti theft mode and can only see the following files on the USB drive that I had plugged in.

- config.alp
- U52357**.bin
- VOICEPCK.ALP

Is there meant to be another file I can back up??

just found this video and it states to use service code 2-4-6-8

At 1:24

Anyone know which file to back up?

Resolved.

It is a ".Key" file.

Correct Service code to enable anti theft is 2-4-6-8

That's for privacy mode - it will still work, but parking mode only without the USB key (I run mine like that), for banned areas etc

Anti-theft means it won't power up at all without the USB key - not sure what the sequence is for that, as I don't run it

I think it’s awesome when people search to try to get answers before they start a new thread! Keeps info more organized. Bravo I say!!

Just drop the USB down your pants or subtly out the window - seems a lot easier than having to destroy something.
