OK, so I hooked my 360 (that I had down dated to 1.5) up to DT and told it to update. It only updated 2 files this time instead of 3 as I recall from the first time I updated to 1.6. I'm assuming the 2 files it updated were the Antenna_External and Main, which were the only 2 that I down dated with EFL 1.2. If the recollection is correct, it is starting to sound like the original update to 1.6 also did update the Antenna fw from 1.1 to 1.4. After I updated, I hooked it up again and told DT to update it. This time it updated 5 files, and it did take a quite a while longer because the 5th file it updated took quite a while, just like the 1st one did. I videoed the whole process and I'm processing the video now. Will post the video when I am done editing.

Decided not to add the video after all. I forgot DT shows your serial number the whole time. Sorry.

When I reflashed, I had 5 parts. The whole update took longer. I'm glad that everybody else is seeing the same. Tonight I had a nice 1.5 mile K band which was around a bend and over a hill. The ramp up was smooth.

I think escort messed up the original update and fixed it but never told us.

Performed re-flash again, and again 4 parts for me. It did take longer this time around though. I have a Mac and did have a very old version of DT, which I updated prior to the latest firmware re-install.

Strange that you aren't getting 5 parts.

As a new owner of a 360, this is completely maddening. I love the display and package of this unit, but am about to return it given all the hoopla over the past week. If someone is able to do some more comprehensive and controlled testing after a re-flash, please let us know the results. Also, Escort, please tell us what the hell is actually going on!

My 85 S/N only did four parts on a reflash. Ran it twice just to be sure.

I did the flash to 1.6 on the first day using DT. I first used the green update software button and it did a 3 part update. Afterwards, I looked under the advanced tab and decided to try Update All in hopes that maybe it would update the Defender Database also. That update was in 5 parts and took much longer. Although I have not hd the Max 360 very long, (Bought it from BRD) I did not notice a fall off in range when driving frequented routes with speed signs after the update. I was getting 1-1.3 miles warning before and I still get the same range. Using Highway with TSR off. I did notice much better BSM filtering. it was quiet enough that my wife asked if I had my detector on. She is used to a beep every 5 minutes as we pass Acuras, Pacificas and such. Overall I am happy with performance. More time will be the telling factor though. This is not my first detector as I built my first one from an Archer kit in 1977. After that I went through several Cobras before buying into Beltronics. My first Escort was an IX that I bought last year and have since sold. I was not happy with its BSM filtering ability. The M360 after the update is much more what I am looking for when BSM filtering is needed. I also have a R3 and like it too but don't plan to run it daily.
I have always told friends that detectors are like bird dogs. Every one is a little different and it takes some time to get used to how they perform.

Drove for a bit today. Didn't encounter any active LEOs. GPS signal did not lock on at all the whole time during my 10-15 minute drive. Could just be from my Blendmount I installed last night. Somewhat cloudy today, but enough breaks in the clouds to acquire a proper signal. Going to further test it more today.

EDIT: Seems disabling and then enabling GPS filter under settings gave it a lock after a few seconds.

FYI, after last night's re-flash to 1.6, I had my first incident of the M360 sticking on a K-band alert. Was strange. No frequency on the display. 1 signal showing on the counter. Wouldn't go away until I power cycled it.

I used the green update button for the first re-flash, got4 parts and manual firmware update from the drop down menu for the second and again 4 parts. I will try the update all from the advanced tab when I get home and see what happens.

    --- Post updated ---

This hasn't happened to me yet, but obviously a firmware issue reported by several forum members. I did have this happen several times last year with my Max and that turned out to be a H/W problem that required me to pay Escort $149.00 for service and me mailing it back to them 3 times finally to get fixed.

M360 v 1.6 Hwy,TSR off, X BAND OFF. So I pull into Lowes parking lot ,its a large store with 3 different entrances. Received 6 k band signals ALL arrows flashing blue, then I notice a brief GREEN arrow pointing forward ,side arrows and back arrows were BLUE. WTF I pulled over checked my settings . X BAND WAS OFF. I don't know if sending the detector in for service would help anything. Bought it last November. So many issues ( stuck display, Powering down sometimes sticks on display, now this.)

Ok - I just re flashed my M360 again and this is definitely a new version whether they changed the version number or not.... I didn't even have to pull out of the drive way to notice the difference.

    1. My settings were retained after updating.
    2. 'Band Enabled Modified' is no longer shown during startup. (I am running Highway mode with TSR off).

I think we just found out who the actual beta testers for this new release are... ;)

Just Re flashed my M360 for third time after reading your post and I still get Band Enabled Modified' on startup . I have early serial number unit and am running Highway and TSR off . I talked to escort today and they want me to send it in . They sent me a ups label and my 360 is still under warranty .Wonder what they plan on doing to it ,got a feeling nothing and send it back to me even though it is not the same since 1.6 and getting the lockup problem .Even though it only locked once now I don't trust it . When mine locked it made no sound and only way to see that it locked was in the display . I have no desire to be constantly looking at detector display while I'm driving . It would be real nice to have that happen when coming up on a LEO and not realizing in effect I have no working detector . When I talked to "Angela" at escort you can tell that they are told to follow a script when talking to customers . She did not like it very much when I suggested that we the customers are beta testing their product without them saying it . I'm in no way a computer person but it almost seems to me that this update overloaded the M360 . I too updated when update was in 3 stages and went back and re flashed a few days later and it went to 5 stages . Haven't been using 360 because I ended up getting an R3 and just said F--k Escort . Real shame ,I also have a Max 1 and only reason for 360 was because I missed arrows that I have on my very chatty V1 . I can live without arrows as long as I have a detector that gives REAL alerts and at a distance . M360 was acting real weird even on KA after update ,I know people say that's not possible but I know what I saw . Have had detectors since early 80's, seen a lot but don't trust 360 . Got a feeling that Escort is thinking their customers are a bunch of chumps .
One last thing ,about a month prior to 1.6 coming out I called escort about when new update was going to be available. Some guy in customer service says to me that it was already out so I went to computer to download needless to say he was giving me a load of BS ,what a surprise for Escort .LOL .So I called back and spoke to someone else there and asked what is going on ,I was told that he could not have told me that . When I told Escort the guy specifically mentioned 1.6 they said that he must have "misspoke" . Found that strange ,do they know their product?? At 68 I know BS when I hear it and it came through loud and clear at Escort .

    sctg,

For what it is worth my M360 serial number starts with 85 and it only updated 1-4 steps. My son just bought him a radar detector and I steered him to buy the R3..if Uniden keeps on the same track then I am sure he will be a Uniden fan for life like I was with Escort until recently.

Since TSR is not really a 'Band' of radar I wonder if it will not display the 'modified' screen for that reason.

Did it previously show with that exact set up? I run TSR and X off and get the screen.

ER has said that screen SHOULD show when you modify the settings, but did not explain which ones will 'trip' it.

I went back to 1.5 last night.

Agreed! I am back on my V1 and use the R3 on the highway. I dont trust the M360 to be on and it is a constant worry to be "checking" to see if it is still running.

Yes, it previously displayed and after I re-flashed 'Band Enabled Modified' it it no longer appears. I noticed all my settings were intact Highway Mode and TSR Off. Planning on doing a factory reset on the settings and reconfigure later today to confirm the 'Band Enabled Modified' is still not displaying at startup.

Ok - I just performed a factory reset and adjusted my settings (Highway mode and TSR Off) and sadly the 'Bands Enabled Modified' is now being displayed on start up.
