A bit on the complicated side of things, but I'm thinking you could possibly use a coupler and run a switch inside of the coupler to control the wire that's providing power. It's a bit of a project but I'd imagine would work to give you the ability to switch it on and off without shutting down the ALP.

Would take some work and a wire run but should do the trick.

    Thanks LuCroix.

That's what I was leaning for. Some people have soldering skills and like tinkering and this wouldn't be too difficult for them. Unfortunately, it's not plug and play.

Main point is to interrupt power to the RD head separate from the Alp.

    Only problem is this:

    1) Cop turns on his light
    2) You hit the kill switch for the RD
    3) You hit the kill switch for the ALP

    Worst case scenario:

Cop thinks you have jammers. Eventually you're ask to turn on the ALP, and you do. Then you get a verbal warning from the ALP indicating your RD may be defective or to check the sensor as there's no power to the RD.

See the problem? Instant give away.

I don't run an RD through the ALP so I wasn't aware there was a check. It wouldn't just give a faulty sensor warning like a parking sensor?

If it's a sensor warning could just blame it on a faulty parking sensor.

The way around it would be to figure out how it does the RD check and make it think the RD is still on. Not a simple task I'm sure.

If you have a radar antenna issue it will tell you your radar antenna is disconnected.

Perhaps you could just say it's to check for low flying aircraft. Never know when they're going to drop some mosquito repellent all over your car these days.

West Nile is , after all, a big problem.
