No logo on the phone.
Already well known.

If you tap the link in red text on a black background under that logo, you'll find that probably don't create new threads like this.
I'm going to close the bug reports section until we're done getting the new platform up and running if ppl keep making threads and ignoring the huge red/black notice bar...
I feel as if every time a thread like this pops up, a baby kitten loses it's life in XYD's general vicinity. That or orphan babies. Take your pick
yes, I've read the thread. this particular issue just popped up yesterday, when that new box was added. that's why I was letting you know.
if it's already known, then great.
How about putting an ad/direct link to Tom's website to reward him for his hard work & dedication to our hobby.
We will be implementing our Preferred Vendors page again soon, but other than that, RDF is a neutral, unbiased party and we will not be directly linking to any manufacturer or vendor in such a manner. We will also never EVER have advertisements.
there is a God and he's listening!!! On my other forums, the ads have gotten so intrusive that I often don't visit anymore.
We're fortunate enough to have a community that helps us operate ad-free. I think this is one big thing that separates RDF from other places on the net - sure I understand the fact that I'd rather have a place with ads than no place at all, but it's a true measure of a community when everyone pitches in and really makes the place into what they want it to be.
As much as I'd love to give more praise to places like @BestRadarDetectors - honestly, I don't need to. Tom's contributions here speak much more than any 128x60 advertisement can, not to mention he's the first person nearly everyone here mentions when someone asks where they should buy from. People don't need website owners to tell them where to buy from when the members and actual customers can provide a much more intimate answer to their question.
Of course, our preferred vendors post/box will be returning, but as you all have seen when we've had it up previously, it's purposely unobtrusive and it is anything but an advertisement - just as we like to reward members of the community who help further this hobby for reasons we all decided to create this site, mfgs/vendors who have done their part to see such advancement flourish are noted as well. We gain nothing financially from any sort of praise and honestly it's better that way. First we don't need it, second we don't need any ambiguities regarding the values everyone including the staff, myself included, hold so close.
It's a good day when members of this community and this hobby can interact with those who have a financial stake in the industry and find common ground and outcomes that are best for everyone. I'm sure there have been times where our members have driven Tom up the walls but he's still here which is more than I can say for a lot of people who have been in his position, and a lot of people who would find themselves in his position.
Except for turning random words of posts into affiliate links.
If you're in the market to purchase some operating systems, here's one you could use: http://skimlinks.pgpartner.com/mrdr...com/search.php/form_keyword=operating+systems
Lol I guess it depends if you consider that advertising or not. Everything linked like that is automatically generated by skimlinks, and we definitely don't go stuffing random keywords just to get affiliated links posted places. I'll be changing the color/style of skimlinked content once the theme stuff is done to make it even less intrusive than it currently is, so people will be able to distinguish an automatic link from a real, user-generated one (like we did on vB).
Speaking of that, there's an addon we'll be enabling down the road once all the main changes are done, that'll let you all add keywords to specific terms - mainly for information purposes - basically when you mouse over it, it'll show you a tooltip with information. This is rather helpful for our newer members where things like IO or QT will be defined.
As long as we can turn it off, I'm happy
