    @RusWolf, that location looks perfect.

I ran mine in the same place on my truck and it worked great.

I have a Cruise Card in my commuter car so I have to run the V1 on the right side, above my mirror on that vehicle. But, the car is narrow enough that I can easily reach the V1 if I need to change a volume setting or turn off K Band.

    Thank you!
Yes i am now thinking about getting or making my own permanent attachment to 3M tape the V1 to the window in that spot.
I just wonder if that dark OEM tint area affect its performances....

Also i wanted to check what another member suggested and test if i have metal in the windshield or not.
I don't think so, because i could not find that info anywhere. This car is 2017 Lincoln MkC.

I'd love to get the mirror mount but they are so damn expensive!
And $35 mount, im not sure if its going to work because i barely have any space to attack anything directly behind the mirror. (Car is opted with auto dimming, auto high beams and auto rain sensing) i think some of the sensors stuck by the mirror thats why there is a bulge.

Im going to be taking a 240 mile round trip right now to PA. So good chance to test it!
Taking my dash cam as well.

I did pretty much the same, but I mounted the LE with a Scotch Lock strip on the side. Its similar to Velcro, but all plastic and alot stronger. On the side, it seems to stay out of the way a little better and allows me to mount it up higher.

Where did you find the black splitter? I'v e been looking all over for one!

Good luck with and post a picture when done.

    --- Post updated ---

I am Canada so just went to a local AV store but Radio Shack must carry or Amazon. Mine came beige, so spray painted it Black, careful to mask off the connection pins. Cheers

OK, thanks. The white and beige are a dime a dozen around here. I just didn't want to bother with painting.

    OK guys!

Made my 240 mile round trip today!
Everything went well, V1 functioned well (I think) i had a few K band hits most likely not from police, i did see few speed signs the rest i am not sure what it was however V1 and V1D did a good job on auto muting and i have X band turned off.

Now the fun part... and i have this on video and i hope my dash cam did not over record on this instance yet. (it records in loops)

Anyway i was driving on I-80 in NJ heading towards PA, there was a slight turn on the highway and as i came around a turn there was a NJSP on the side of a road shooting laser! V1 went off with LASER on full blast ! BAM ! Not sure if i was getting lit up or a car next to me. (I was in my dads 2015 Dodge Ram 1500) Pretty large vehicle and if the trooper was shooting my headlights or plate how the hell did V1 pick it up? Anyway.. RIGHT after the Laser alert and as i was about 100 yards from the trooper Ka band went off as well.

    Now my questions are!

    1) Why in hell did Ka band went off so close to troopers car? And why did it not go off earlier? (I hope my V1 is not defective lol.. i have no reason to think that at this point, since i did not have any Ka instances yet...... Only other time i saw Ka was when i saw a PA Trooper driving in the opposite direction on a mountainous road as v1 alerted as soon as he came around the mountain)

    @mswlogo
    2) Why am I not able to find these Laser and Ka hits on my V1Driver? V1D was active at that moment and i see ALL K band hits.. but i do not see Ka band and Laser hits! Do i need to turn something on in the app for it to record Ka and Laser in addition to K band hits?

I will try to get the video of the situation today and will upload!

Hey guys, first post but wanted to introduce myself. My V1 and V1Connection LE are arriving tomorrow and I'm pretty excited to try them out. I picked up a Max360 immediately after their most recent firmware came out, and, WOW. What a fiasco. Looking forward to getting familiar with a real RD paired with V1Driver soon!

    Welcome!
I just got mine yesterday! Switching from 10 year old Escort 9500i, also a new user to V1.
Just read this thread and it will give you most of the info needed to set you up and running!

You "Map" IS your LOCKOUT Database. It is NOT a log. But... there is a debug feature to drop "Ignore" Pins for bands that you are not AutoLocking. It's under Debug Settings and called "Create Ignore Pins".

    got it! Thanks..

i thought it was a log map lol...damn it...

just checked on the video from the dash cam and i do not have the video for the Laser/Ka band hit. Since the memory card in the dash cam that i took is from my drone and footage from the drone is still on it, so the dash cam recorded my drive back from PA over the video from the drive to PA. I should have marked it as important video so it would protect it... damn it..

well maybe this weekend i can go for drive and look to see if i can find LEO's shooting Ka's.

Note also there is an "Instant Replay" feature that is sort of like a Dash Cam loop that is always running and will get tossed unless you tell it to save it.

Look at the Video in my Signature for more details.

You got a Ka hit from a PA State Trooper? That's... odd.

NJ laser and Ka and in PA trooper was driving towards me with Ka on.

Why is it a rare sight?

(I'm pretty sure that oncoming LEO car was still in PA because it was on I-80 two lane in the mountains right before you cross to Jersey.)

That's my stomping ground, and I've never seen troopers out of PSP-Swiftwater* running Ka-band, only K-band. Also, PSP troopers aren't authorized to use "rolling radar". They must be stationary when running radar.

Do you remember what the car looked like? Did it have a green stripe instead of a gold stripe? US Park Rangers sometimes use the Delaware Water Gap bridge to get to the NJ side of the DWG National Recreation Area, and they run Ka-band.

    (* now PSP-Stroudsburg)

    Not sure ..

it was a white car with light on the roof and equipment on the dash.. thats all i had a chance to notice due to 1) Going in opposite directions 2) As you you there is a barrier separating the directions.. so it was even harder to see any marking on the door of the cruiser.
I just basically assumed it was a trooper.

Not trying to threadjack, but it's Christmas in September at my house!

    Photo Sep 13, 4 02 20 PM.

Going to work on the setup and install later tonight. I have a space in my headliner that will easily fit the bluetooth module and conceal it. This is a dumb question, but is there any downside to concealing it (as opposed to having it stuck to the V1 or somewhere else visible)? I don't expect I'll ever really need to touch it, but just want to make sure.
