    Greetings,

    -----

    TLDR:

    - To donate, head here and purchase some RDF Credits (in the amount you want to donate). After doing so, your donation is considered complete! Feel free to come back to this thread and read up on what exactly RDF Credits are/what they will be used for in the future.
    - To get a Premium Membership, head here and follow the instructions in the descriptions (which basically state purchase some RDF Credits (with PayPal or Bitcoin) and then exchange them for which Premium Membership you'd like to order.

Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask in this thread or PM someone from the leadership.

    -----

I will be updating this thread later on with a much more in-depth overview of what we are calling RDF Credits, but the system is more or less almost done being setup and a few people wanted to send some donations and pay for RDFCloud service, as well as sign up for Premium Memberships, so I figured I'd go ahead and at least activate it for the time being so those things can be taken care of.

I will, as said, be updating this thread after I am done with a few other tasks outlining the purpose of RDF Credits, as well as our vision of what we have in store for the new system.

A while back we used a system we called "RDF Points" to handle paying for premium subscriptions, and to make donations, and the "RDF Credits" system is essentially a version 2.0 of what RDF Points was. Going forward, to donate to us, pay for premium memberships, RDF GDrive accounts and various other RDF-provided products & IT services, you must first exchange your real currency (USD) into RDF Credits.

From time-to-time we will have discounts/bonuses available, but in general the exchange rate is $1 USD for every 1☪ RDF Credit. The little ☪ symbol is our symbol representing RDF Credits, just as $ is to the US dollar.

By having our own little currency, it allows us to more easily create giveaways, raffles, rewards, so forth and so on, which can then be exchanged for any product or service we provide which normally is a paid item, such as Premium Memberships, donations, RDF GSuite accounts and etc.

So lets say I wanted to purchase a lifetime RDF Premium Membership. I would first head to the page where RDF Credits are purchased, here: https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?credits/buy-credit

This page can be accessed from the menu when hovering over the respective link on gray bar at the top of our forum:

    rdfcmb.

From there you can choose how you would like to purchase RDF Credits, i.e. with PayPal, Bitcoin or any other payment method we may be offering at any given time:

    rdfcpl.

You can see how many credits you currently have in a couple various parts of the forum, including on the Credits statistics page viewed here: https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?credits/

You may also transfer credits to other members - as a gift or for whatever reason you might have - by doing so on the credits transfer page here: https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?credits/transfer

As we start to add more products or services which can be purchased with RDF Credits, they will be added and announced at that time so you know where to find them.

In the mean time, we currently have all of our Premium Membership packages available for purchase on the XenForo "Account Upgrades" page, which can be found in the list of settings on your account page, which can be found here: https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?account/upgrades

At some point I will be importing the database of Premium Membership subscriptions so everyone's account is up-to-date as far as their status goes according to the RDF Credits system.

Purchasing a Premium Membership with credits is an easy task! Simply head to the Account Upgrades page and follow the buttons, as seen here:

    xfsubs.

Once you subscribe (or purchase, if it's a one-time payment i.e. for a lifetime Premium Membership), your RDF Credits will be deducted immediately from your RDF Credits balance and your subscription/purchase will be immediately activated.

You can find out more about Premium Memberships from this thread: www.rdforum.org: RDF Premium Memberships!

I will be implementing an actual donations addon which you will be able to donate RDF Credits into, but for the time being, consider any RDF Credits purchase a donation (in the event you were looking to simply donate to RDF and not buy anything) - in the mean time just let your RDF Credits balance sit and once the donation addon is active, I will go into details on how donations are being handled now that we have the RDF Credits system in-place.

    Refund Policy
Refunds will be given on a case-by-case basis but I can state that we are very fair when dealing this these types of situations. Our aim is to always allow you to know exactly what you are getting before you give any sort of financial support to RDF, and in the end if you aren't happy we will work with you to make sure the outcome is favorable to you - whether that is a refund, service compensation, etc.

As said, I will be updating this thread later on with more details on the RDF Credits system - in the mean time feel free to use it and what has been implemented so far, and let me know if you have any questions here in this thread.

    Thanks!

Usually when I get that message on PayPal, it's my institution blocking the payment due to their fraud checks.

I went ahead and updated a bunch of the descriptions so it makes it easier to see what you are getting and what things cost etc when dealing with the credits/subscriptions, but yah, lifetime = ☪35 RDF Credits ($35 USD).

Likewise - I've actually seen this error a few times lately on a different PayPal account, and even calling PayPal they don't see any restrictions or holds or anything on the account and don't have an explanation or solution to the issue. PayPal still has its flaws...

I'll call my bank tomorrow and see what they say. I don't have any money in my PayPal Wallet but it says I don't have to have it there to make purchases or send money. I haven't used my PayPal account in a while but when I log in it says everything is good to go and my correct bank info is there. So I don't know...

Lol good stuff, I only have my credits because @patscogs donated purchased them and donated them after we did a bunch of IT stuff via teamviewer last night.

The PayPal account I saw those errors on even had money in its wallet and still had issues. Are you able to purchase anything on www.paypal-gifts.com? paypal-gifts.com is an official paypal owned store, and likely if you can't make a purchase from there, you won't be able to make purchases on various other sites either (it's hit and miss). Hell if you wanted to grab up a $35 amazon gift card from there and shoot it my way I'll credit your account here with ☪37 RDF Credits. I'm actually interested in seeing if your pp account wroks with pp gifts now that you have posted about this issue...

System worked fine for me, but I've had a confirmed Paypal account for a long time now. Just waiting on the credits to show up so I can purchase a lifetime membership here at RDF.

    EDIT: DONE!

I am a little confused. I thought that I understood the directions indicating I purchase credits and my donation is considered complete. However, the credits are still in my "account". How do I turn the credits into a donation?

    Thanks!

I have a couple ideas regarding this but I am not going to mess with it until I'm done getting our new theme up and running. But believe me when I say I understand what you're saying and will have a response to it for you soon.

Thanks - I thought that I was doing something wrong. I let it go for awhile knowing that you were up to your butt in alligators. I know that you are pouring your heart & soul into this project. We all appreciate it.

    Okay, update on this stuff!

PayPal has removed the limitation from our account to where we are at least able to start accepting payments again. Previously we did not have this 21-day hold period attached to any of our incoming payments but we do now - I'm trying to get it removed since the limitation was done in error but it took ages to get the limitation itself removed, I don't know how long/or even if the 21-day hold period will be removed (except after 60 days which is the period where they naturally remove the 21-day hold from happening to begin with). But at least we're able to process donations/premium subscriptions now, and all these recent raffle transactions will start clearing in the next week or so.

So, to sum things up, in the mean time, for people who want to donate/grab up a premium subscription via PayPal, you may go ahead and do so via the instructions in the first post in this thread like normal. After you submit your payment, your credits should be automatically credited to your RDF account. After this has happened, please manually log into your PayPal account and head to the transaction you made to us and mark it as "received" or whatever the similar option is, so the funds will be released to RDF within 3 days instead of 21 (the buyer manually marking the payment as received in this way will allow us to receive it quicker). Again, this will only be a temporary thing for the next few weeks until the 60-day time-frame is up.

For people who want to pay by Bitcoin, that's still an option using our Bitpay address/the Bitpay option - just switch from the PayPal option to Bitpay at the top of the Buy Credits page, i.e:

    btc.

We are in the process of having our business Payza account setup (very similar to PayPal, but not a terrible company, and integrates with our Credits system just like PayPal and Bitpay) which will be able to process payments soon (you can sign up for a Payza account like you can with PayPal, or you can use a guest checkout using a cc/debit card similar to PayPal too) - and again unlike our old Stripe/Chargebee payment processor, cards aren't stored in the payment processor's system so there's no risk of any sort of fraud this time around (thank God, what a mess that situation was).

I'm also going to go back and re-activate our simple android app like we were setting up before we decided to just use PayPal exclusively, which will allow you to use your Google account (Google Play) to donate/buy a premium sub using the in-app purchase feature inside Google Play android apps.

Additionally, and this is going to be really cool, once Payza is done approving our application, we will be able to accept tons of different types of altcoins (as well as Bitcoin, since that's technically not an altcoin), AND send Bitcoin/altcoins to you guys as well (i.e. no more having to use Coinbase/shady online places to buy/sell, we will be able to do it for you guys safely, nearly instantly and WITHOUT fees). This is going to be very helpful if we decide to do this RDF mining pool thing we've been talking about in various threads here on the forum. Tons of altcoins are accepted as well:

    ETH - Etherum
    ZEC - Zcash
    DASH - Dash
    XRP - Ripple
    LTC - Litecoin
    DOGE - Dogecoin
    BCN - Bytecoin
    GAME - Gamecredits
    GNT - Golem
    LSK - Lisk
    NLG - Gulden
    NXT - Nxt
    POT - Potcoin
    REP - Augur
    STRAT - Stratis
    WAVES - Waves
    XEM - XEM(NEM)
    BCH - Bitcoin Cash
    PAY - TenXPay
    BTG - Bitcoin Gold
    MCO - Monaco
    OMG - OmiseGo
    DGB - DigiByte
    NAV - NAV Coin
    EDG - Edgeless
    GUP - Guppy
    SYS - Syscoin
    STR - Stellar - XLM
    BAT - Basic Attention Token
    SNT - Status Network Token
    1ST - FirstBlood
    ADX - AdEx
    ZRX - 0x Protocol Token

I believe monero is also being added to their list of supported coins as well.

So yeah, tldr: PayPal donations/prem subs are now re-enabled! Sorry for the inconvenience (oh and if you do pay via PayPal, please read the small paragraph above regarding the payment hold issue which should be manually completed by you after you submit a payment to us)!
