That's true. The R3 not being able to detect the R3 was based on the idea that MRCD detection generally required specific hardware. We saw this with the Redline / Redline EX, RPSE / Pro M, Net Radar / Net Radar MRCD, etc. The R3 was the first time that some semblance of MRCD detection was able to be added on an existing platform which was both surprising and impressive. That said, because it wasn't designed for it initially, there are still some limitations like the K band scanning range like you mentioned.
Glad they addressed that limitation with the R7 :).

Are you aware the R3 has a hardware restriction that prevents it from scanning lower than 24.050? Which means its completely unreliable in Edmonton for MRCD detection because it won't detect some of them. Not that this has anything to do with Blinder support and continuation though...
Well aware of the limitation. Was just trying to make the point that more can often be got out of something. I'm not sure there are too many people that would run a V1 with just stock firmware.

I know such a business model wouldn't work for companies that are actively progressing and bringing out new products but wouldn't it be nice to wait that extra year or two to purchase the latest and the greatest because what you have still works. Jammers specifically because of the hard install.

even more so when you pay $1499 for install on top of the purchase price of a 4 head system. Ya hope its upgradable and supported for years via software and firmware updates, in my case wirelessly. Being on this site with the aide of knowledgeable engineers and regular guys like me we can pool our resources via constructive communications and tests together, to get the most out of (toys) hobby.
