Hello, i have 2 laser diffusers that are the thin long narrow type there are 3 wires in the wire wrap, a yellow, a red and a black,
i want to know if i can just hook these up to 12volt power and have them run with no led's and what wires get hooked up to where, im a novice, but assume red power, black ground, and yellow was to the LED? ?
i have 2 and will mount them both up front, on either side of the license plate, i assume that is best or please advise.. and also do they both get wires seperately to the power source or can i connect the two and then run one wire to the power and ground? are these still effective?
thank you room !!!!

Aren't K40's typically installed by professionals? I believe K40 offers wiring info on their website. If you don't have them installed yet and want to do it yourself, what are your thoughts on selling it and getting something good instead?

I think you are missing some parts of the system. are you saying all you have is just two heads and nothing else? there should be a control box that they plug into

I removed it from my old car, and i have to say, K40's work, and my unit is probably 8 years old, before i removed it, i tested it against the escort 360 which i now own, and it went off at the same time or maybe a second or two later, very good unit in my opinion, so i do have the board and knob for it, and the radar head, i couldnt get the 2nd one out, and i have the 2 laser diffusers, ,

You use your radar detector to test jammers?

When Holla said they are useless, he was saying they do not jam newer guns... K40 is outdated unit...

It may alert to laser but it won't jam much.

Don't you need a brain or CPU for this to work?

Huh? You tested your jammers against a radar detector? I am so confused. Either way, they don't work. If ya don't believe us, hit the highway at 20 over the PSL and waiting for the light show to begin!

OP, I am new to the CM game as well and ask for advice all the time - when you have guys like Vortex , Holla , and Andrew21 telling you switch out a unit for ALPs, definitely take their advice

Not sure if this is your model, but this sounds like your description... that said as others have stated, the K40 diffusers, especially the older models, aren't effective against most guns you will encounter today, the technology has changed a lot and the older jammers out there can't handle the new stuff. Consider upgrading to something like ALP for protection that will save you consistently, rather than a false sense of protection that will likely let you down when you get hit with a laser gun made in the last several years.

I used to have K40 in my vehicles as well. Then I learned about Vortex and now my mind is made up - no more K40! Like you Miaggi2, I was a K40 fan until I saw the videos and posts on here. The best thing about K40 is the install - maybe the radar is still good tbh, but when it comes to Laser, they're completely out-classed by ALP. ALP is the leader from what i've learned, and I'm waiting to pull the trigger once Radenso offers their new remote radar/display....

Just do a little research via Google, and I think you'll be able to see for yourself.

K40 radar is Junk as well--there is nothing good about any of their systems unless you like spending a ton of money for outdated and poor, poor performance!

Use K40 if that says anything on the subject

You sound like an I know best you know nothing kinda guy prove it

The system you have is junk
If you'd like to share an approximate location you could probably find a member that has proper testing equipment that would cut that car down in one shot locked

Correct.

If you have any questions on why, or how the Antilaser Priority systems work, ask away. We all started from some point.
