Be sure to set the mute volume level. I believe its an option to simply lower the volume to a user set level instead of muting.

Did you do a reset after the update?

Had the same problem before. I just brought down the auto mute volume to 2 and that helped. If this does not help bring it down further to 1

This!

Set your auto mute volume one to two levels below your regular volume, and make sure the auto mute setting is turned on.

Am I supposed to reset factory settings after every update? Because I didn't do it.
Yes, especially since new features were added. I don't remember which thread, but BRD and Vortex mentioned it.

I was having the same problem yesterday until I tried that. Moving the volume to one!

Yes, Uniden actually responded to the Vortex video on FW 1.26 when it came out, saying that a reset after the update is needed.

Perhaps the thread title should be changed to 'I didn't know how to set automute and thought it was not working'
Perhaps you should change your user name to rectal.

Thanks Guys,

Like I said. No matter the setting there is no auto mute, its as if I have it turned off. But stay tuned, I'll re-flash and test later today.

Very strange. Just checked both my R3 and R1. First, I made sure auto mute was on (I don't normally have it enabled). Second, made sure auto mute volume was set to 1. Third, made sure regular volume was set at 4 (I normally only run two, but wanted some difference between regular volume and auto mute volume to make sure it would be noticeable when auto mute kicked in).

Worked on both of them. I'll update the post with a quick video in a bit.

Good advice because I saw this thread earlier today & decided to test my auto mute. When I tried it this afternoon it wasn't working. But while looking through my settings I realized my volume was set to 2, which I mainly use, & my auto mute setting was also set to 2. When I changed the auto mute to 1 it started to work.

I got mine going. First I did the usual delete all and factory reset again, no go. FYI I run my volume maxed.

I reverted to the previous FW which ran fine then back to 1.30 & voice file, with the usual deleting of user marks, lockouts, and a factory reset.

She is good now. Must have been a dirty flash the first time.

Good that you had it figured out. I have been using the new tone 4 for K band and I didn't have any problem with it. I tried switching to tone 5 for K band and something is odd when you compare how both implements auto mute. Both have the same setting for automute volume and regular volume.
