Uniden is going to be publishing firmware 1.30 for the R1/R3 on their website tomorrow, but BestRadarDetectors asked them if we could release it a day early just to you guys on the forum and they gave us the all clear. Here's the firmware updates:

View attachment Uniden R1 firmware 1.30.zip
View attachment Uniden R3 firmware 1.30.zip

Update: You can now find it on Uniden's website as well: http://support.uniden.com/radar-detectors/

Note: There's two steps to this firmware update:

Step 1) Install the firmware update. (Make sure you use the new installer included in this zip file.)
Step 2) Install the updated voice pack.

Here's my video that covers the changes with 1.30.

https://youtu.be/LBroj6aUTLs

and finally here's a changelog with the updates from 1.26 to 1.30:

 • Fix for ghosting K -> Ka and Ka -> K
 • Band priority alerts (called Ka priority)
 • Lockout range reduced from +/- 50 MHz to +/- 30 MHz
 • Lockouts no longer affect Ka
 • Delete individual RLC by hitting mute button twice
 • New user selectable tones for X/K/Ka/Laser (12 tones)
 • City2 gone, new Advanced mode (user defined sensitivity adjustments for X/K/Ka in 10% increments)
 • Mode display (can replace time or heartbeat scanner on screen)
 • Display mode box color matches display color
 • Altimeter changed from 4 digits max to 5 digits max
 • User selectable automute levels (3 seconds)
Thank you to Uniden and to all the beta testers!

To make sure I understand the +/- lockout MHz and I have my decimals correct....

Say a K-lockout is stored at 24.155 GHz:
1.26 would lock out from 24.105 to 24.205 GHz
1.30 will lock out from 24.125 to to 24.185 GHz

Is that correct?

Related question - given the change, do we need to redo all of our lockouts?

That's the idea, correct.

Nope. You may, however, find that you'll need to create some new lockouts though. If one lockout used to cover a bunch of signals that were covered within the +/- 50 but not the +/- 30, you may need to create a second lockout to cover the signal that is no longer within the lockout range. If the false still falls within the smaller lockout range then it will remain locked out.

Correct, You might have to add some new lockouts if there was more than one door sensor at a given location.

1.30 seems a bit better on Ka. More testing will confirm.

This is in the Vortex video:
Short answer, no.
Long answer, possibly, if one lockout was covering multiple sources that are inside +/- 50 MHz but outside of +/- 30 MHz.

I have the Mini USB cord, but my Windows desktop is locked down so I can't install programs.

I'll have to wait HOURS (!) to get home. heh
