I'm completely baffled at this. The sound quality i get from Satellite is a massive improvement over the average FM. And this is in every car i have owned, and i am not far from the FM broadcasting stations ether.

Like most things in life, if it has what you want and a few extras you don't care about it still fits your needs better than anything else. Not bad for under $100 a year.

I'm with you lol. I've been nothing but happy with every car I've used it in. FM is all static and filled with ads. Sirius not so much

FM/AM are known to clip the audio peaks to sound louder, so maybe that's it. Also Satellite radio does use very poor quality sound for just voice channels as apposed to the popular music stations.

I never listen talk. Sometimes I listen to sports but those are just from local AM stations for some teams. I like it all around

I don't know satellite sounds like it has the highs and lows lopped off and is muddy sounding. It's not very clear sounding.

I've been doing this for a few years now. I usually get 6mo. for $35.

Quality is definitely better than FM, but it still isn't that good. Varies by station also.

Yes the bandwidth on Sirius XM is dependent on the channel. Talk radio channel requires and thus gets less bandwidth allocation.

If I have i am listening to it I am usually Octane or altNation. AltNation sounds better than Octane but both sound bad.
