Some solid BT app is also welcome, that fully support motorcycle users. V1connections app can't play sound in backgroud (only notifications ) and don't mute properly "out-of-box" (still some first signals)... . ALP app does (but sounds differnt that V1, that's why V1connections app should be better). . .. So I hope that integration of new V1 with ALP will be hold, that user could choose one or another solution for him self.

Y.
I use JBV1 on my bike, it's perfect (to quote some orange guy). The phone plus app connects to my N Com helmet and transmits all JBV1 alerts, muting is instant, the phone alert display is unmissable plus I have CSA's transmitted to the helmet and showing a variable range countdown to target. There's a tonne more features, but I'm not filling the page with it all.
Everything I want in bike detection, and 2 km's+ detection range is all I need.

Clash of the Titans: R7 vs. new V1 vs. Theia. This is (hopefully) going to be a great year for detector enthusiasts.

Recap 2:

2b.) 9,110,149 Combined display of radar signal direction and strength - is a display patent which provides a digital screen that could provide a selection of screens that look similar to the various information displays on the V1 app by VR. Some think this could go on the V1 itself and replace the physical dedicated arrows along with the strength meter, and others believe it could be implemented on the concealed display.. or both. This is a granted patent.

NOTE: Combined Display Region #310

It wasn’t a question, and it wasn’t answered in that post you linked.
Lol.

Can an answer (meaningful) be truly provided if the information isn't there to give?

Two steps forward and one ankle roll for old times sake? You catch my drift with you coming out of left field? Probably not.

It wasn’t a question and didn’t require an answer. Just some dude wishing the V1 had a frequency readout built into the detector display. Throwing a link to a long list of patents in progress at him and tell him to dig through it is unnecessary, unhelpful, and dismissive. No response at all would’ve been fine. Or even responding with whatever his own feelings or analysis might have been would at lead be somewhat productive. “Me too, but it’ll never happen. Their attempt to patent a remote display accessory seems like the closest they will get.”

I seem to recall seeing a number of potential 'Combined Display Region' display options in one of the filings way back when. Many were just variations on the Arrow, some with increasing sizes, etc, but I don't ever recall seeing an option that included the Frequency. If that was an option, I must have missed that, fwiw.

I'm gonna address this bluntly.

Look at your comment and then your response. Quit trolling, it was a meaningless post and you're justifying yourself with a long-winded spin.

Knock it off, this is the kinda crap the got you banned before. One minute you're tolerable then you slip into this stuff.

What a shame. Let me be clear, they were trying to be helpful and you are not; argue till you're blue in the face I don't care. We all know how well that's worked out for ya. He provided meaningful information and you just decided to dismiss.

Take a break you crafty devil. Don't try to paint the person you dismissed in a bad light. Talk about throwing a guy under the bus lol. Wow.

I sure was wishing for a numerical readout on the detector of the signal.
Aren't we all! Man I think all of us curious about the V1 are keeping our fingers crossed for that one! There's some patent related stuff as already mentioned, but none of us have been able to confirm if that's going on the V1!

Here's something at least minorly interesting:

Look at the current CD. It doesn't allow for volume control. Now look back up at the pictures from the patent a few posts up. Maybe volume control on a new CD, or maybe a hint at what the updated V1 could look like? Bread crumbs.

Furthermore, typically the V1 and CD match with what information is displayed. The main point of the CD as advertised is to allow for a more discrete setup. Information from one is mirrored by the other. Hmmmm. What does that tell us?

It will be very, very interesting to see how the V1 competes with Theia.

These patents indicate a design refresh has been in the works for a relatively loooooong time. Not only that, the V1 was damn near fully refined (not saying perfect) for what it was/is.

If they deliver I'll be back. Just like the times before.

#1 is the OG for IO early detection. Big ones also are chirp compression, and rate at which meaningful information can be captured and analyzed.

It looks like you'll be back, then. Theia is great with AI and all and I will probably purchase the unit when it is ready, but I will always have a Valentine product sitting right next to it because I know it's tried and true. Using AI is great and all, but it's going to be flawed especially in the early versions as they train it and as they make it smarter and add stuff to the database.

I have trust issues. I like thinking for myself rather then letting something decide for me. Give me the alert and let me decide if it's a false/junk or a real threat.

P.S. I am loving the new front end design.

?????

So a new Valentine will be flawless because it’s tried and true?

Got any lottery numbers you want to share?

Valentine Research has a reputation to uphold. Mike is a perfectionist. If you think he would release a product that doesn't match or exceed the 'old' V1 in terms of product reliability, you're mistaken. You think the Valentine 1 not being for sale for almost a year was just for giggles?

There is a reason Valentine doesn't use that cheap plastic housing.

My V1 has lived on my front windshield for 12 years and is still functioning. Try that with any other manufacturer.
