I don't remember exactly but it was a couple thousand lockouts that you can save. The US firmware has a better lockout procedure and the radius is bigger. I expect that problem to be diminished greatly. Ideally you only have to save a few lockouts and the rest are filtered without having to use lockouts

Agreed. Even with the excellent bsm filtering in the beta I'd rather not be trying to blindly feel for the middle button and holding it for a few seconds and hopefully not disabling the detector while driving.

Ideally for me, it'd be a single or double tap of the minus button.

Perfect. Thanks for that Michael. That should be more than enough.
I’m just glad it’s not like another company that claims you only have room for 200.

I will say the M actually has excellent k band filtering when set to max. It alerts all the speed signs here which I want it to because they are legit k hands that are measuring speed but at the same time I want to lock those out. Generally speaking I don’t have much of an issue with locking signals out. But one touch lockout would be a better for the detector.

I have never intentionally changed the brightness of my display. Only time it changed is when I wanted to lock out a location and the brightness changed instead.

Really looking forward to the new firmware because I’m really at the end of what I can handle with the mrcd false

Be patient. If the new FW is anything like the Beta we’re testing, your going to be extremely happy you waited.
It’s been like night and day as far as I’m concerned.
I hope it comes out soon. It truly does deliver.

I'll have this feature added to our list of improvements but I can't promise if & when it will be updated as right now the primary focus is finishing the new firmware to improve the false alerts.

Cool. We all know the filtering is the focus and we definitely want that before anything else!

I also know changing around the button functionality isn't something you can or should toss into a release without testing how it'll affect the other button functions / overall feel for using the detector.

I went on a 500 KM trip this past weekend and it was a nice quiet ride. Only about 3 or 4 K-band false alerts all very short except 1. I was next to a new Nisssan Pathfinder Platinum and it caused a constant K alert, saw the same thing yesterday with a Nissan Armada SUV (also platinum edition) but less of an alert.

I only ran into 1 LEO running radar on the highway, he was driving and using I/O Ka band, I didn't get much range on it because he had just finished giving someone a ticket as I approached him.

I did notice yesterday that the lockouts do seem to be a lot larger than I originally thought as well, the signs I previously locked out (single lock out) did not alert the when I drove by them again, I think it just may be that it doesn't actually say on the screen that lockout is completed.

I did get confused a couple of times when approaching a locked out area as it gave a single short K-band alert then muted (which is different from the One Beep in US version) and I immediately hit the lock out button resulting in "lockout area deleted" and then I realised my mistake and hit it again resulting in "lockout area restored". This is just a minor annoyance that we likely won't have to deal with in the US firmware.

I also have reported occasionally not getting an MRCD alert at all even after looking directly at the operator and noticing them not doing laser, I drove around the block a few times to confirm and no signal. The truck was near a speed sign I locked out and didn't think of removing the lockout to see if it makes a difference, this has happened 2 times to me so far.

I've had mostly positive results with red light and speed cam alerts. The speed cam alerts mostly are in areas known to have a photo radar truck present but some of them have not had one there for quite some time. I also noticed that the speed limits reported are sometimes wrong, ex. Calgary trail approaching 34 avenue says 50 kph when the speed limit is 60 kph, verified with Waze and a physical sign.

It would be really nice to be able to see an active map of the red light / speed cam alerts and have some trusted moderators in the cities verify and correct the data like I used to do with Trapster when it existed (RIP).

EDIT: I think I may have found the source for the alerts, I looked at the map on http://scdb.info and it seems to match the alerts I have been getting, the one at calg trail and 34 has no speed limit noted so it may default to 50 kph, I submitted an edit saying it's 60. I also noted the alerts that synistyr mentioned on Scona road that I also have noticed the last few days.

What K band settings are you running?

I'll have to keep an eye out for the Nissans but I don't think I've ever gotten a K false in the city with the beta.

I have gotten a couple dubious MRCD non alerts. One returned after deleting the K sign lockout location and another after doing a factory reset- but that might have had to do more with 1 MRCD truck, multiple speed signs, and multiple rolling CO Ka sources along Whyte Ave.

Good news. The US firmware for the RPME has just been put on the server, but still only for Beta tester. All previous Beta testers will be able to upload it. According to our records the following serial numbers are Beta approved:
    RADB71087/USA, RADB91876/USA, RADB26219/USA, RADB14459/USA, RADB19030/USA, RADB91299/USA, RADB52357/USA, RADB75539/USA, RADB86494/USA, RADB27966/USA, RADB62120/USA, RADB64130/USA, RADB27752/USA, RADB27405/USA, RADB89984/USA

The functions of the current firmware should now be restored in addition to the new filtering. Here is a brief description of the additional changes in the new firmware.
    1. Dim setting has been changed to be more dark.
    2. At lower than low speed mute setting speed, no Multa alert problem has been solved.
    3. Multa/Gatso Signal Strength Meter display has been applied.
    - Multa CT : to be displayed as “MC”.
    - Multa CD : to be displayed as “MD”.
    - Gatso : to be displayed as “GT”.
    4. Multa false alert issue has been resolved
    5. Multa CT false alert on Multa CT Off setting has been eliminated.
    - During Power On, there was a problem in transmitting the status of Multa On/Off to Radar module.
This firmware has corrected this problem.
    6. Brightness default issue has been corrected on RevM02 so that we did not do anything on this firmware

Looking forward to receive your feedback quickly. If all works well we are planning to release the firmware to everybody on Monday

Just release it to everyone. What’s the point in waiting til Monday to release it to everyone. I don’t think the beta testers would give enough feedback in 3 days to really alter anything unless there’s a glaring issue.

The point is to prevent bugs from carrying over to the public version. What’s the big deal with waiting till Monday? Not like its 6 months away....

    --- Post updated ---

    So far so good :)

Sounds to me like the decision to move forward has already been made, and unless there is a show stopper type of issue =(Worse than just a 'bug'), it will be released Monday.

US 3 installed. Thanks Michael. Should be able to do more testing this weekend prior to release Monday.
At least all users not involved in the beta test have a definite timeline for release. I already noticed the difference between Bright and Dim modes are improved.

    My settings:

    K Band - Narrow
K TS Rej. - TSR HIGH
    Ka Band - Narrow
    Ka Filter - On
    Ka Pop - Off
    Laser - On
    MRCT - Off
    MRCD - On
    Gatso - Off
    MR Filter - High
    GPS Warning Distance - Normal
    Auto City - 10:70
    X0 K5 Ka0
