Sorry for the lousy photo but I was shooting backwards, out my window while waiting for the light.

He was parked on the Rt 15, 66 entrance ramp. Chrome rims and all. The only thing that stuck out as being a cruiser was the digital antenna on the roof.

That looks exactly like one of the ones I saw doing pacing pull overs on New years day on I 84 in southington. Had I not seen him on the other side moments earlier and kept good SA on my 6 I would have probably been had... He got the guy next to me, and his buddy in a silver unmarked charger got the guy on my other side almost in unison.

Direct quote from my criminal law professor:

Don't tell that to John DeLorean who very successfully used it as a defense!! I know your crim law professor was not the same guy who did the Youtube video "Never talk to cops."

Ton of these here. You can tell by plates too. Always UTZ, WWL, WHK. CT has had unmarked cars as long as I have been driving.

Yep. I've never seen a police Charger so stock in CT. Aside from the plate and the roof antenna, there were no other tells that I noticed.

In GA only marked cars can make traffic stops and issue citations. The way it should be.
Someone tell GA that. I've seen a unmarked Taurus SHO running I/O K band on the I-95 in Darien, GA. In Darien, anything goes. I've read a lot of shady things about the cops there and that's the reason why I own a blackvue today!

I've seen a few on the I-91 and a stock Ford Expedition as well shooting laser also on the I-91. I-91 was killer when I took it to boston. I only wish I had my blackvue hooked up then to show you guys one stretch where waze went crazy I thought it was glitching but I encountered like 11 various unmarked cars all shooting laser. CT drivers got it bad...

Glad to see things haven't changed since I went to school in New Haven. A college friend just retireD from CSP and is now double dipping as a PO in Orange. He pulled up behind me (unmarked Crown Vic) one day as I was doing an after Hours surveillance for work and scared the crap out of me. Used to be (he said) that they kept the shotgun and the AR-15s in the trunk. So if they rolled up in something and the trunk was opening, you knew it was serious.

Edit
I remember them running unmarked Mazda MX-6s for a while.

They do a sting operation a couple times a year up there on 91.

Shady unmarked cars should be illegal but I generally eyeball Chargers and Tahoe's pretty close.

I always wonder if these guys have marked support? I got popped by a unmarked Lexus in Louisiana many years ago, I was in the Vette so I just took off on him. Not far up the road a marked crown Vic was waiting for me in the medium and made the stop. I always thought it was odd that I wasn't cited for evasion. They took my "I don't stop for unmarked cars" statement, issued me my original citation for speeding sent me on my way. Maybe my Texas plates made a difference?

I pulled next to a Ford Escape the other night and the blacked out steel rim just screamed LEO. I looked closer as I pulled up next to him at the next light and sure enough there is a low profile digital antenna right in the middle of the roof and the radio head and LED light flasher on the dash. Very sneaky.

Man... you never know.

I was eating at Whataburger last week and eyeballing this black unmarked Tahoe that pulled into the parking lot. Antennas, spotlight, steelies. Then the door opens and a couple of Fireman hop out.

I saw two of these nearly unmarked Chargers and the Impala I posted not to long ago on I-84 East around Exit 70 near the Wellington area this morning. It was definitely a team effort.

In NYC, we have some blacked out tinted unmarked minivans that can legally make stops. But they usually make stops for everything other than speeding.

Mini-vans? Probably stopping teenage girls for underwear inspections.
