I have never really had any false KA signals in Indiana, so I really must be missing something here that you guys have issues with in other locations.
A lot more idiots with cheap detectors in say New York than Indiana for sure.

It would be cool if they could make the Mark button do something else like switch between city & highway mode. The button is in such a prime location, and I never want to mark anything and I'm sure most others feel the same way.

Edit: from reading the manual you can press and hold the menu button to do this. I didn't know that! I use a visor mount so this is kind of difficult, but it would still be cool if you could make the Mark button do something else.

Any thoughts on when new R3 (1.28) firmware may becomes available to us forum members either via uniden website or beta version (1.28) download threw google drive?

If someone is willing to share via P.M i would be willing to beta test. haha

Check out R3 oversweep thread. I have video of 34.82 and dropping to correct frequency of 34.80 with shortened distance. That's either stalker ATR or 34.7 drifted higher.

Will they add an "No X band" option that does not affect K band? I used city 2 mode and K band is almost completely useless. For those of us that live in PA and similar states with no X band but "full blown" K band, it would be an awesome option. My Note 5 and wife's LG Vista 2 (ATT) set off X band when going from LTE to 4G....it happens more often than you'd think.

There is a newer firmware in the works that will be released in a few weeks with all of the 1.28 functions and some additional ones.

May be a silly question, but why do you have X-Band enabled?

Vortex, would you be able to test Spectre with the new firmware?

Just go into the menu and turn off X-Band and run it in Highway mode. That's what I do.

I could. I tested both the production R1 and R3 a few weeks back (I don't remember with which firmware) and results were almost identical with the preproduction R3 I used for the video. I don't think firmware updates will impact RDD immunity.

My wife travels into NJ daily and X-band is alive and well in small towns. I've picked up 2-3 encounters in the last month alone on a few back roads. He almost got me as I was in unfamiliar area and thought it was a false---but the ramp up clued me to realize it was a LEO.

Firmware would not make any different in Spectre capability.
Thanks but I feel it's possible since the R's are not built around physical suppression like the Redline using paint dampening, lna's etc. Just curious.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a "Highway No X" option for situations similar to Mikelets456 when I make a trip into NJ to save me the time of having to fiddle in the menu.
