I have not tested the last update in detail because I have so many other projects going on that my time is limited but in the quick lab testing looking for bugs I did not get any. I did not do extended testing in the real world but there are others that are testing daily and I am sure they will chime in with their experiences.

In regard to KA Segmentation it is not needed. I think Escort only released it on their DSP 360ci because of Tesla Falsing so they made it that users can turn off the segment that the Tesla was falsing to. The Uniden DSP is not falsing to Tesla's in Wide mode so I really dont see any advantage except to confuse more users. If KA False alerts at some point become an issue I am sure they would consider it.

Can you guys share your experiences with new soon to be released firmware update?

New features, K/Ka ghosting is much improved in Ka Wide, BSM filtering is good (comparable to my Stinger), and some display updates. So far so good.

I asked them to hold the latest release and add a few more things like Band Priority before they release the next update. We have many users that have trouble figuring out how to update their detectors. Not everyone is computer literate so I have many customers that send me their units back to update the units for them and send them back. It makes no sense to release an update every week when existing release is tested and stable. A new update which has all the latest fixes and the new KA Priority adjustments will be out soon so just sit tight.

Does anyone know if Uniden made a decision yet about the lockout frequency range? Has anyone heard anything?

Yes, those have been improved as well with a smaller frequency range. It's being beta tested right now, and I'm finding that in areas with multiple signals, I have to go back and relock signals out that are no longer within the frequency range of my previously created lockouts which totally makes sense and is what I'd want to see.

1.28 is rock solid stable, no issues that I've noticed. BSM performance is wonderful in my own travels. Rarely falses and the audible alert is not IO-like at all. No ghosting that I've noticed in my day to day travels.

I can't wait for ka priority however!

Thank you sir :)

BRD said they're going to add it before this next release. See his post earlier in this thread. I wonder if that means 1.28 that you're testing won't be released.

I said it would be included in the next release. 1.28 is not an official release and the 400+ new R3's shipping next week will still have 1.26 but the next release will keep what 1.28 has and add a few more things including the KA Priority.

Are you seeing it often now? I haven't seen it once since upgrading to 1.26. I use KA narrow though. I think they were saying ghosting was much improved with the beta and not saying completely eliminated. That's good enough for me because again, I haven't experienced ghosting at all with 1.26.

Occasionally using KA wide. I'm running wide since I've encountered a few locals with out of tune guns in the past.

I will run my R1 with 1.28 this weekend and see how she does. I did pick up a BSM today on a Pacifica. Beautiful ramp up and down with changing distance (same lane). Signal was 24.196. R1 did not have any filters on. Also checked range on a k door opener at 24.122 courtesy of our local Dollar General. Redline and R1 were essentially identical in range. This was based on easing up on the door at about 5mph from 1/2 mile away. My old M4 Rx65 had about a third less range. When driving towards the signal at 55 mph, the RL alerts sooner than the R1. It seems the off axis on the RL is a bit better....on k so far...at least. No experience with Ka yet.

Not yet. With 1.26 I could make it happen quickly with some K band door openers. With 1.28 I had to sit for like 5 minutes before one eventually one popped up.

I've been running Ka Wide and Ka Filter Off and get almost no ghosting in practice. Once or twice I did get a 34.8 false, but nothing like before.

It's a big improvement so far, but not yet a total fix. Sounds like they're going to continue improving things and adding features (like band priority alerts) before releasing it as public.
