Escort has most definitely not had FW updates for the Max 360 every week. Been waiting over 10 months for the promised Max 360 FW update. RLC database updates may be another question. Last one for Uniden was back in April.

There has already been one update and another in Beta. Plus more in the works. Two months in and they are leaps and bounds ahead of Escort when it comes to updates. Well, and performance, value, customer service.......

I asked them to hold the latest release and add a few more things like Band Priority before they release the next update. We have many users that have trouble figuring out how to update their detectors. Not everyone is computer literate so I have many customers that send me their units back to update the units for them and send them back. It makes no sense to release an update every week when existing release is tested and stable. A new update which has all the latest fixes and the new KA Priority adjustments will be out soon so just sit tight.

Thanks for the update! Random question, is it in the works to allow the use of individual ka segments or is the plan to stick with ka narrow / wide? Is the 34.7 ghosting said to be resolved?

I have not tested the last update in detail because I have so many other projects going on that my time is limited but in the quick lab testing looking for bugs I did not get any. I did not do extended testing in the real world but there are others that are testing daily and I am sure they will chime in with their experiences.

In regard to KA Segmentation it is not needed. I think Escort only released it on their DSP 360ci because of Tesla Falsing so they made it that users can turn off the segment that the Tesla was falsing to. The Uniden DSP is not falsing to Tesla's in Wide mode so I really dont see any advantage except to confuse more users. If KA False alerts at some point become an issue I am sure they would consider it.

It is needed as range is improved when running KA narrow on R1/R3 versus running KA wide. Us guys in NY that deal with drifting stalkers cannot run narrow, as it would not alert to those out-of-tune stalkers. Therefore we take a performance hit when running it wide. KA segmentation is needed. Clearly not a deal breaker as this is a great detector, but it would be nice to have segmentation.

@Vortex, can you chime in with you experience thus far with newer firmware?

Yea I was only asking because I am one of those unlucky individuals who needs coverage up to 34.9 so I cant run narrow, running narrow seems to perform better so I was hopeful that I could turn off some of the ka band to step performance up a tad. Also have been seeing some 34.4 falses.

What about the users that live in NY and deal with stalkers drifting high?

That is a question for Escort. They recommended turning off 9 & 10 which essentially means if a 35.5 gun shifts +50mhz it will be ignored.

Shutting off 9 & 10 will only cut off detection above 35.600 (+100MHz), equivalent to Ka narrow on 35.5 on a R1/R3. Not sure if the Escort oversweeps at all.

Ka Narrow 1 On / Off* Frequency range: 33.400-33.700 GHz
Ka Narrow 2 On / Off* Frequency range: 33.700-33.900 GHz
Ka Narrow 3 On / Off* Frequency range: 33.900-34.200 GHz
Ka Narrow 4 On / Off* Frequency range: 34.200-34.400 GHz
Ka Narrow 5 On / Off* Frequency range: 34.400-34.600 GHz
Ka Narrow 6 On / Off* Frequency range: 34.600-34.800 GHz
Ka Narrow 7 On / Off* Frequency range: 34.800-35.400 GHz
Ka Narrow 8 On / Off* Frequency range: 35.400-35.600 GHz
Ka Narrow 9 On / Off* Frequency range: 35.600-35.800 GHz
Ka Narrow 10 On / Off* Frequency range: 35.800-36.000 GHz
The NYS Stalkers tend to drift up to ~34.9xx, so as long as segment 7 is enabled on the Escort you should be good.

To get reliable coverage of 34.9xx on the R1/R3 you need to run Ka wide, unless they add segmenting or some other option to widen the 34.7 sweep.

Is there an updated complete list of the known vehicles that false the new R series? I've searched but haven't found a specific thread. Just scattered responses.

Segments would be awesome

I'm talking about R1/R3, if you can't segment the RD, than you can't run narrow and miss out on performance...

This would be good, probably should start its own thread

The OP is talking about Escort's RLC database. It's updated weekly.
