Can Someone please help me with the best settings for CR-93? I have k band in my town so I was trying to keep my k band setting long plus Ka 34.7 plus 35.5 and one town 33.8.
My settings
1 highway
2 TFSR on Is this for Traffic Flow Sensors? Will This Lower k band and Ka Band a lot for range
3 FDSR Is this the BSM Filter used to get rid of falses from blind spot monitoring? How is this with Range for k band and ka band?
4 xk filter2 Will this lower k band a lot?
5 ka filter1 Will this lower my ka band a lot?
6 Auto quite on for volume to be lowered
7 AUTO QUIET SPEED Will this low range for any bands? have 25 mph set can they be the same?
8 AUTO FILTER SPEED Will This lower range for any bands? 25 mph set can they be the same and work ok?
9 x band off
10 FDSR On setting two. Shows ### not FDSr put doesn't beep shows range of blind spot car or truck. Can you get an alert of real cop when this happens? Are these setting any good? Ka Max ModeProvides enhanced Ka sensitivity. This mode can be selectedwith or without RSID? What Is RSID
Please help me with the best settings?

Well this detector isn't one you can just plug and play but for the most of the time you can run the filter settings as follows:
1: tfsr-on...must have for bsm & cas..systems on newer cars or it won't shut up...
2: ka filter 1 sometimes 2 if you live in a cobra detector environment...
3: x & k filter 1 or 2 and still have decent range just according to where you live country or city
4: This detector has a fdsr..setting this only to let you know if a bsm....or cas...vehucle is around and it us kinda useless cause it will constantly alert so I leave that off...
5: This detector has somewhat tunnel vision so the other settings I don't bother with...
6: This is a great device for the city and long straight roads but isn't one you wanna speed with in the hills and curves because it's just a ticket notifier in the hills and curves it won't go off until just about line of sight of radar source I personally like this detector cause it's super quiet in the city and around lane assist vehicles...hope this helps some

thank you so much. For Some reason Whister is telling me that FDSR is bsm filter? And That TFSR is traffic flow monitering? Does using AUTO QUIET SPEED lower range for any bands? I have it set to 25 mph can it be set to same as auto filter speed? AUTO FILTER SPEED Will This lower range for any bands? I have it set to 25 mph set can they be the same and work ok?

1) Highway is fine

2) No effect on sensitivity, perhaps timing a bit, but not sensitivity. Only use if you experience known traffic flow sensors in specific areas and they are bothersome (yes only used for stationery sensors that pulse at 750ms-1000ms)
3) FDSR doesn't effect sensitivity. It is essentially a mechanism to indicate that the detector's reception is being compromised. If you don't have it on, the detector may not alert when being interfered and remain quiet (as other detector can/will do). At least with FDSR, the detector will be informing you of this. FSDR is specifically for BSM systems.
4) No effect on sensitivity, but adds about 100ms for each additional "level" to the base line
5) Same as #4
6) Fine
7) No effect on sensitivity, whatever your personal preference is
8) No effect on sensitivity, whatever your personal preference is
9) Ok as long as you don't drive in NJ, Ohio, North Carolina, remote parts of Mississippi
10) See #3. Ka Max mode is the preferred setting here.

X/K and Ka Filter ModesThere are times when a radar detector in another vehicle, canemit a frequency which can cause your detector to falsely alert. These Filter Modes allow you to select the level needed for yourarea to minimize the occurrences of these false alerts. X/K andKa Filter Mode factory default settings should provide adequatefiltering for most conditions. If you experience excessive alertsdue to radar detectors in other vehicles, increase the Filter levelfor the band received. See Option Selection Mode to changethe filter settings.Speed Selectable Filter ModeTraveling below the speed selected in option mode will applythe maximum Filter.NOTE: Enter Option Mode to set Speed Selectable Filter.Ka Max ModeProvides enhanced Ka sensitivity. This mode can be selectedwith or without RSID.Field Disturbance Sensor Rejection (FDSR)Traffic Flow Sensor Rejection (TFSR)Recently many new products that operate on police radarfrequencies have been causing nuisance alerts to radardetectors. These radar based sensors are installed alongsidethe Highway and more recently on vehicles used as lane changeassist / blind spot detectors / collision avoidance systems. TFSRwhen turned ON is designed to eliminate alerts from specificTraffic Flow sensors. FDSR when turned ON is designed toidentify all radar based collision avoidance systems that operatewithin the same band as police radar and provide a briefless intrusive alert to keep you informed and aware. A signalstrength indicator will help determine your proximity to thesource without the continued annoyance of audio. We suggest you turn FDSR ON if you are experiencingexcessive random false alerts when behind select vehicles.Press the Menu button to enter Option Select Mode. Each pressof the Menu button changes to the next selectable feature. TheDark (D) button and the Quiet (Q) button turns the feature ON/OFF or Blinking for example. A button must be pressed within20 seconds or Option Select Mode will automatically be exited

Although some of these settings help with false alarms, like tfsr will also give you less warning of real K band radar. Have no issues with detecting radar around curves and hills

I still wouldn't trust it around curves and hills in a country environment even though it may give ample time warnings depends on how fast you are traveling and terrain..other than that its decent detector for the $$$$ but they are better choices out there...
