Hi All,
Awesome forum I've discovered here! I just purchased a Blinder HP 905 Duel Laser Jammer from Radar Roys website and will need to get it installed on front of my 2016 Lexus Es350.

Do do any of you folks know who has experience with installations and will install now that I have the equipment?

I got nailed going 71 in a 45 in Stone Mountain and can't let that happen again!

Any help is appreciated in advance.

Thanks, Jeff

I guess you didn't do your Homework. Blinder has not had an update for over 2 yrs. Its very out dated firmware for the the new guns out there. you really need to look into ALP laser Jammers. I was a former Blinder user. HP 905 will not do any thing if you get hit with the newer guns. Sorry for the bad news.

Atlanta Georgia you certainly picked the wrong unit. Atlanta uses Dragon Eye guns heavily which the HP905 will not even alert to.

Ack. You were sold the wrong tool. The company that makes a gun that will slice right through your 905's is based next door in Norcross.

Return your Blinders as soon as you get them and get a set of ALP's instead. You'll need them there more than anywhere else in the country.

I'm already learning a ton gentlemen, I appreciate all the comments and am doing more research based on them. Fortunately I can return my blinder extreme for free for 30 days money back so no worries there.

of Atlanta sells the Blinder I purchased and they told me it does work on Atlanta radar guns. I wonder if there's is a brand new updated version? It would seem would know as they have been selling jammers for years but I know your guys really know your $@& here so I need to listen to you.

I have to call BS on this. Who did you speak with at Car Tunes of Atlanta that told you a Blinder product would save you in Georgia?

Blinder will work on the ProLaser 3 and Ultralyte guns, even Laser Atlanta. However, it will not protect you from the Stalker XLR, Laser Ally and Dragon Eye..

I think you're getting an up sell based on the fact it will jam some guns around Atlanta and they have a deal with Blinder. However Georgia is particularly aggressive with Lidar and they have some sophisticated hardware out there. You need better than B league protection if your going to play in that sand box. At least they didn't sell you on a K40.

I see now what happened.

I got a quote from Nick Mullins at Cartunes and thought it was an upgrade from my blinder extreme I had from 10 years ago, but I'm reading the quote right now and it shows they were going to install an "AL Priority control unit and 3 AL Priority sensors". I thought that was the new blinder.

Nick told me the blinder extreme I had would no longer work and that what he was suggesting would, I thought he was upgrading it to the new blinder model and didn't even know what AL Priority was.

Now i see why there was such a price differential from the online blinder 905 and the quote I got.

I almost made a a huge error here in ordering the blinder direct and getting it installed. Wow, I super glad I am finding this out now!

He suggested 3 heads in front. I have a mid size car with no front tag and was hoping 2 would work.

I told him I didn't think I needed rear protection and he said he understood.

The quote was was considerably higher than I budgeted so I got online to see what blinders went for direct and assumed I could do better perhaps buying direct and installing myself. Now I realize the quote was for a completely different system and that probably explains the price differential. I need to revisit this and may have them do the work now. I know they are experts and install will be done properly so no questions there.

I hope this AL Priority system will be effective at least 3-5 years as otherwise the price almost makes it a wash with a couple more tickets

Yeah Nick is active on the forum here so that makes a lot more sense. Car Tunes is not cheap, but they do generally do a good job.

Per the US Distributer of ALP they still have a lot of good years left in the current hardware. No planned changes anytime soon from what I've read. They also update their software/firmware like no one else in the game. Buying ALPs is almost like buying hardware and getting a free subscription service with it. They are constantly improving and updates are always free.

One GA Super Speeder save, and it's REALLY easy to get to super speeder speed at only +15 on the interstate, and you've saved money. Consider not just the ticket plus the super speeder additional fine, but what it does to your insurance rates.

Rears aren't a 100% necessity, but if you have the cash I would think hard about it. Rear shots from GSP are confirmed and you're going to be pissed if you shell out that money and think you're protected and then still get nailed from behind.

What are you running for radar defense? ALPs are top notch for laser, but alone won't help with radar.

I am typically just driving around metro Atlanta and have never had a radar detector. I think I got popped on South Cobb Drive about 12 years ago with radar but otherwise it's always the motorcycle cops with laser guns nailing me in these little townships of metro Atlanta.

Obviously a travel on on the interstates in metro atlanta and see some troopers from time to time but it's these dang little towns that get me!

I have an update. I needed to cancel my order from Radar Roy and they were extremely cool about it. The guy I spoke to had actually suggested the ALP when I ordered the blinder yesterday but since I thought the blinder was what I needed I ordered it anyway.

How times have changed. When I lived in Atlanta I would meet friends at Atlanta Rocks off of 75 and APD would hit me with Lidar all the time on 75. GSP hit me a few times going through Sandy springs. In fact my experiences in Atlanta is what drove me to serious countermeasures.

Ah cool. Good on the person who you bought the Blinders from. You're gonna get a lot of use out of your jammers in ATL so it's a good thing that you're getting set up with the best equipment. CarTunes should do a great job on your install for you as well. :)
