I saw some video with no explanations of alerts or which sound is which. I do have a 9500 so some sound familiar. Is there some place where I can see raw data about the range of a XP vs other RD

Love the smart dark display. From dark to on is more attention getting and nothing for the smart rabbit hunters to look for when off. With this and the strong speaker I can listen to tunes without worry of missing an alert.

The unit filters so good and is so quiet I run the speaker all the way up and set the auto mute to 60%. With the speaker up high the default 40% didn't give much contrast but does on the lower volume settings.
When the XP goes off somethings up.

Received my XP today. Being an LRD950 user I don't expect to feel the difference in a quite ride. But might be able to compare it with my RPSE before. I would be looking forward to the detection performance. My LRD950's performance before is just no longer their. Used to get those sweet 1-2 mile detection range , but now it's mostly safe distance detection.

Have you thought about sending your Uniden in for service?

Here you compare the Uniden DFR7 to the XP.
I got a Genevo S black Edition the European version of the RPSE.
I've drove about 800 miles with the Genevo and the DFR7.
I'll make next 800 in the next days travelling from France to Italy.
I can affirm that Genevo alert at the same distance of the DFR7 for K band radar.
It his just a little bit better in off axis .
It doesn't show you radar frequency.
It has a more customizable menu that's true but that's all.
I thought having bought the best RD and I could resell my DFR7.
I will use both holding the Genevo only for his little better off axis performance.

You can see how the XP stacks up on each band compared to the others and which band it's strongest and weakest on. This is good to know if one type of gun is dominant in your area. For instance, in my case I hardly ever see anything but 35.5 so I look for detectors that do well against that radar while also taking into consideration its anti-falsing properties. It's all about finding a balance between performance/range, quietness and price.

The XP does better out in the real word vs testing.

How so? Do you feel that there's something about the testing scenarios that don't accurately mimic realworld situations?

That's good to know. I've been thinking about picking up an RPSE to play with and compare to my V1, but I might pickup and XP too.

Ditto. How could the testing be any more real? It's not as if the testing is being conducted in a lab with simulated hills and trees.

Finally I could make a test comparing my DFR 7 vs Genevo S Black Edition (the RPSE for Europe).
I tested this two RD vs a stationary K Band Radar.
You can see the differences in alerting from Uniden and Genevo with the radar facing at my car.
Genevo One S Black Edition
As you can see Genevo "wake up" extremely close to the speed radar.http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5ega2b
Uniden DFR 7 http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5egdwa.
As you can see Uniden alerts with sufficient time to slow down.
I'll made some more test in the future but I can't confirm that Radenso/Genevo is more sensitive than the DFR 7.
I think that I'll keep both....
