So Alex at kmph.ca has the Redline International available (which he's calling the Redline MRCD Edition), but he's not an authorized dealer so Escort will not honor the warranty if you buy a detector through him. That said, I hear he's really good at warrantying the detectors himself should anything go wrong so people should still be good either way.

That said, I'm a fan of authorized dealers and after asking EscortRadar about the best way to get a Redline International in Canada and also get a warranty, here's what he recommended:

We have a Canadian dealer page here. Let whoever you speak with know that you need the "RedLine International" model (not Pro-A, etc). It's serial number, which is located on the outside of the box, begins with 73.

If they do not have them available, then please let them know that Multaradar is now being used in your area and that only Escort's "International" models will detect them. North American models will not.
I see they've got several dealers in the Edmonton area. Does anyone know which ones offer the Redline International and what the prices are?

I can back that up. He's excellent for warranty repair, and its cheaper to go through Alex then it is to send it to Escort in the US. "Escort and Beltronics Radar Detector Warranty: 1-year".

Personally I think thats a ridiculous request by ER. How long have we known about the MRCD, posted about it? Why can't he just pass it along at the top?

Most dealers in Edmonton know nothing about what they are selling or the threats faced.... they still push Escorts laser shifters in Edmonton. They charge $900 Canadian for the North American Redline - https://www.jbspowercentre.com/manf/ESCR/Escort-Radar/&sc=275.

Its way cheaper to buy either a NA Redline or International Redline from Alex then it is to go through an authorized dealer. I will always go through Alex, I am tired of getting gouged by companies that think its ok because we are Canadian.

We have also asked to stock the International Redline and Escort denied them to us.

Being in this hobby for almost 3 years since I came in Canada from Europe, Im happy I stepped away from Escort products and now proudly use Valentine, Antilaser and soon Net Radar MRCD :)

This thing with Redline Intl. n Escort Inc is just ridiculous.

Why dont they want to push their own product when MRCD is present in certain area??????
Anyone?

The Redline Pro A, aka International edition is a great detector and treads where the V1 can not. I suggest getting a hold of Alex and see what he wants for a Redline International edition. If you face MRCD/T or Gatso, you'll be glad you did. Please share your price that you got it for. Perhaps a group buy???

I bought a Redline Int from Alex. He did a great job of answering all my questions, helping me with Edmonton specific programing. (he will program it for you if you ask). Shipped it by courier, not post.
I have had a couple of Passport detectors in the past, and I have never had an issue with them. If they work out of the box, they will probably withstand the 1 year they are warrantied for.
I already have got my monies worth. It has identified 6 MRCD locations on my drive.
PS, the Redline Intl is made in Canada. (s/n sticker on the back states this), so not being able to buy one under warranty is stupid.

All of the M3s are Canadian made and my fear is that with Bel (???) possibly going bye bye that so too will that production source. My Pro A was also made in Canada and has been bulletproof for near two years now.

Tell him to get you one of these for testing if it works with MRCD, he can sell them instead... They are cheaper and no BS with Escort...

I received my Redline International (née MRCD Edition) from Alex earlier this week. It's missing the rubberized coating present on my old Redline (and looks a little cheaper as a result) but otherwise appears identical. Alex had pre-programmed all the settings for Edmonton (I enabled another Ka segment to account for off-tune guns) and have taken it for a few drives already. I did get one repeated false but was in a line of traffic and couldn't pinpoint the culprit (it certainly wasn't actual MRCD).

Question: When I travel to St. Albert or Sherwood Park, I suppose it would be prudent to re-enable K-band. Given that you can segment K-band (not MRCD, but standard K-band), are there recommended settings that will minimize falsing while still picking up actual threats?

Also would be interesting in what someone has to say about minimizing K-band falses. I'm afraid that there isn't much, and it's why I'm running a 950 outside of city limits where MRCD isn't a concern. Side note, I have been playing with running them both at the same time and haven't experienced too many falses on each other. The redline sometimes picks up a Ka false, but not all that often. I just worry by running them both, I'll loose the sensitivity to MRCD
