confirmed that Waller PD SUV (think it's a Tahoe) shoots K-band. He was posted up on 290 east bound right over an overpass on the right hand side. 24.119 on the rear antenna.

These small town revenue greedy police departments are the worst. That LEO has no business working traffic on 290 when the actual town (if you can call it that?) of Waller is off 290 and not effected by the traffic there at all...

I think we will be good in Harris County. Those units have been approved for our area for a few years now. I’d take ka range with the bells and whistles any day.

can't confirm (I was doing the PSL in traffic and have quiet ride set at 90 so I didn't notice immediately), but I think I ran past a Cypress-Fairbanks Police Explorer running K (24.125 i believe when i looked up) this morning...

I know that ALL too well. That is all I see on my way to work taking the freeway. There were three of them on the way home driving through Carmel, IN on US31. All of them were running 35.5 and had customers. And here I thought they were switching over to 34.7 Stalkers.

Has anyone seen hpd doing traffic enforcement with radar lately? I’ve only encountered a radar trap once from them in the last 3 years.

I actually hopped on here today because it's been very quiet lately. Normal commute is between downtown on i10 to the BW8 west (then south to westheimer) and there has been almost no KA the last couple months. I'll occasionally go past a LEO shooting CO going the opposite direction, but that's it.

I'll get hit with a laser occasionally in the morning getting on the katy tollway going west where it starts at 610 right as you come up over that hill, but they're almost always marked on waze as well. I'll also occasionally get hit with laser coming back east in the afternoon between the post oak park n ride area exit and 610... once again, almost always on waze.

They're parked a lot on the e-bound tollway a lot in the afternoon, in the car, not shooting anything. In the last 2 months I have seen a lot of LEO's parked on the shoulder doing what appears to be nothing other than maybe discouraging speeders????

White HPD Stealth Camaro was shooting CO Ka on 59 South at Gessner last Wednesday. However he had a customer so I can’t verify if that was his original configuration.

Saw an interesting thing this week. Unfortunately forgot to pull the footage from dashcam before it wrote over itself, which is a shame because it was really good. Blacked out/stealth sport sedan crusier (want to say a charger) with KA CO sitting in left shoulder eastbound i10 just inside west 610 loop pulling over anyone who (illegally) cut over to the left hov/commuter lane before it was a single dashed lane change (goes from on-ramp triangle to a double white line then dashed. If traffic is backed up there i almost alway cut over (it's gated off in the afternoon) and bypass traffic but there was a LEO warning on waze right there and 34.7 was pegged so I stayed in lane with a big grin on my face as everyone was blowing by on the left. Sure enough, get over the hump and he has a customer driving off, floors it in reverse in the shoulder (FAST) and gets the next unlucky soul who is the left lane who can't legally be there.

Also i've been getting several 33.7/8 hits the last week or so in the energy corridor area, which is new for me. What's up with that????

Hi tinyt. I am in Houston, I noticed your post right after you posted it, so, yes, it is still a living thread.

By the way, just the other day I spotted an HPD ghost (white with white out decals) Camero. It was on the I-45 northbound entrance ramp downtown. I did not have my RD with me, so I cannot say what he had, but it was a late model Camaro & first one of those I have seen.

I guess they are upgrading the Camaros. I haven’t come across one yet.

Apparently, precinct 4 added marked camaros to their fleet last year. @erickonphoenix

Hi-just looking for current info on what's being used around town, and whether CM's are really required.

TIA

I definitely recommend some sort of cm for the Houston area. Both Radar and lidar are used in Harris county.
