Came across this post on Houston's Reddit page with the famous HPD Camaro spotted... Interesting that he is running with no front plate also.

Per the thread, he was under Beltway 8 at Clay.

The least they could do was take the plate mount off.

Saw one of the stealth/ghost chargers (black) and Camero unmarked (didn't get a great look at it) (white) running their speed trap on 10 east around Heights Blvd. last night. Picked up a 35.5 signal for sure off one of them and believe the other had a 34.7

Boy they love I-10. I haven't seen them on 59S in quite a while.

For a while they were out there all the time in pairs. Usually the two black Camaros but occasionally two Taurus'. One shooting CO radar behind one overpass then after you pass him right over the next overpass was the other one shooting laser.

Yep I saw the white ghost Camaro (seems like the one I posted the picture of last week) stopped with someone on I10 west going eastbound towards downtown right at 610 this morning at 7ish AM. Behind him about 500 feet was a Tahoe, neither had any radar/laser on and the Camaro was marked on waze.

That stretch of i10 from Katy to downtown (and vice versa) always seems to have marked tahoes on the shoulder of the toll/hov side rarely shooting radar. I guess just making their presence known during morning/evening traffic.

now that i'm thinking of it, i also saw a marked car (Taurus i believe?) shooting lidar on the East bound side of 10 right by the washington exit on Sunday afternoon. He was sneakily positioned so that you couldn't see him well because the bridge blocks your view where it dips down and he was sitting on the uphill side in the "HOV lane" that is inactive in that area? He was out of his car leaning on his open door.

Saw an interesting team yesterday on I-10 east heading into downtown right where it dips south at 610 at about 330 pm. There was one of the blacked out tahoes... but also a blacked out jeep patriot, officer standing outside the drivers door waiting to jump in and drive and another curled up in the trunk area shooting out the back window (no joke). Don't know what they were shooting, still waiting on my new detector to get in.

He was using a lidar gun aka laser. Are you sure that they had a Jeep Patriot on i10?

I wasn't sure until looking in the rvm, my brother drives a green one, so I instantly recognized the front end looking back. I understand your doubt, it doesn't seem like the best vehicle for jumping into traffic in pursuit on i10.

i do plan on a dash cam. yes on i10 eastbound into downtown/heights, where it crosses 610. there is the left exit to the post oak transit center where the toll/express lane ends and then it bends to the right and there is that huge left shoulder area. there are LEO's there at 330ish at least 50% of the time on my way home from work. I also think LEO's have started marking "stopped car on road" in waze as well because if you don't acknowledge that, the LEO notification doesn't pop up... but that's just my little conspiracy theory.

That's either a Houston moto cop or officer Greg Greene with HPD. He works Chartres a lot. Both shoot a fist gen PL3.

Of course Eric knows the officer by name haha
Officer Jim Brown tickets other cops. He's very unpopular. And Officer Garcia in the Bellaire PD is a subscriber to my youTube channel. So I get around.

There was a dps trooper that would pull over speeding hpd officers heading to/from the police academy on Aldine Westfield a few years ago. It didn’t take long before hpd got in contact with his supervisor and had him transferred.
