A true Undo/Redo is a lot of work.

It’s possibly there might be some free hooks in the stuff I’m using.

I here ya though.
How about changing pin type instead of deleting and later (when the daily update runs) deleting the pending type. Until then you could just change the pin type back.

Possibly something like that will make it is easier (trash can model). PINs could be tagged for delete. I do something like that for manual lockouts that there are pending for 24 hrs and will change to permanent. I don’t really care for it. Because it’s easy to go back and delete manual lockouts you don’t want by date and location. But I didn’t have that ability when I put pending lockouts in. I might remove that “feature”.

Perhaps add a “Cop” button to tap when the blue lights turn on to darken & mute (better would be power off but I doubt it’s possible) V1 and begin recording audio.

Is there any way to integrate a speed limit database downloaded from the internet to automatically set Savvy to be at say 5% below the PSL? Same for RLC databases?

In theory yes. But the freebie databases are more prone to errors than the commercial ones and I'm not sure you'd want to rely on it. They don't know about construction PSL's either.

Added Complexity, Cost, Reliability and Risk just don't add up.

I've been using the V1 / V1Driver combination for about a year now in a 2018 Charger with UConnect 8.4. I understand the limitations on making use of the Carplay functions, but is there any way to make use of the steering wheel buttons to control the app?

In the past, I've just had the app open and kept the phone on a mount where I could glance down at an alert and tap the signal to make it stop complaining at me if it were a false, but now that iOS 12 has allowed us to use Waze, I've been using that more than the car's built-in navigation and it's impractical / awkward to switch back to V1Driver every time I want the detector to shut up and let me go back to listening to the radio.

In the absence of full carplay integration, it seems like V1Driver is using a lot of the same pathways into the car stereo that would be used with any standard phone connection, and it seems that the dial / hangup buttons might be accessible for use as controls? I'd love to be able to just hit the red hang-up button to mute, particularly when there's some jerk with a bad parking sensor that keeps setting me off in a 50-mile no-passing zone...

Not a bad idea. There is no direct access but you gave me an idea. I believe my Jeep is setup exactly like your charger.

Oh and something else is in testing (not released to beta yet) right now that might resolve your issue.

One other thing, are you taking advantage of Automute and Autosnooze? I never touch the app or the V1.

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

@LTRusty I just released a Beta version of V1Driver that might solve your concern. PM me if you want to try it.

Basically once setup you can use "Siri Eyes" (Hold Voice Prompt button on Steering Wheel) and after Siri Prompt, just say "Mute" (or "Shut Up" etc.)
I have not tested "Siri Eyes" yet, but the "Siri Eyes" button is just a replacement for "Hey Siri" in the car and mutes your radio for your voice command.

One issue though it will bring V1Driver to foreground. I'll look at options around that.
I'll bet Waze has Siri Shortcuts and you can bring it back with Siri.

I am interested. I'll shoot you a PM in a bit, with some screenshots of my settings. I've got some questions about those, too, that I haven't quite been able to figure out...

How about automatic dark and mute below a preset speed (i.e. 5 MPH). This would be handy if LEO does pull you over.

I’ve had “manual” request to go all dark before but didn’t like the approach. Linking it to speed is an interesting idea.

Perhaps only when decelerating below that speed and reversing with acceleration. Thus, behavior starting up wouldn’t change.

i may have asked for this awhile back but i can't find my earlier post. my motorcycle setup means i can't always see my v1 detector (daylight, hidden, etc) so i'm not 100% sure that it is powered-on. i depend on what i hear so from time to time where i hear power-up tones thru my speakers during my rides, i wonder how long my v1 has been off. i ride pretty aggressively so there might be a loose connection. also, i've moved my bt dongle to under the rear seat and i might have intermittent connections. one time my bt died and another time, the phone in my pocket died without warning and thus, i was riding around listening to dead air thinking i was listening for my radar to go off. i wouldn't have heard it.

my solution is to record an mp3 file that plays a tone every 5 minutes and put it on repeat. as i am riding, i can hear the brief tone repeatedly which lets me know i'm still connected. could be a loud tone every 5 minutes or every 15 minutes, whatever is suitable. so i get constant feedback that i'm still alive. this actually works. would be nice if i could enable a function within the app (and set the length and duration) to beep in my ear if i'm still connected. and if i become disconnected, play some disconnection tones.

this would free up having to play an mp3 file and let me listen to music instead. not a lot of police or false alerts around here and my v1 is not going off all the time so the extended silence actually gets a bit concerning at times....."is this thing working?"

Its been a while since i used V1Driver (experimenting with other apps) and i find my self feeling really insecure with so many little oddities like no audio to alerts at times for K or Ka band which i never had with V1Driver or YaV1.

Is there any way to add auto starting of Waze when V1Driver starts?

Can the overlay be more like the box and positioning options YaV1 has?

Feel free to shoot me a PM on this. I would really like to switch back to V1Driver but the 2 above are really important to me.

I certainly appreciate the need for something like this. And it’s the first I recall it. But maybe I misunderstood it or just forgot. It certainly is a niche request. But I will keep it on my todo list. Sometimes when I make other changes, adding something like this is easy. Or I like chewing on it, on the cleanest way to add it. Or incorporate another feature with it. So I can’t promise when it might show up. But I do think it’s a good idea.

Could this be piggybacked off the disconnected message. Problem is, of course, loss of BT would not be reported, but then, nothing any app can do would, except disruption of a playing audio stream.

thanks. you're right, for me it's mostly about motorcycling and using my radar detector effectively. a better real life example for me is when i'm on intercom chatting with the other riders....it's constant talking. and i'm responsible for the "radar detector" so i need to have that bt feed alive listening for the beeps. if i'm talking not paying attention to the road and my radar detector is going nuts and i can't hear it (because i lost the connection), they won't want to ride with me any longer. lol :D
